Even after over 800 hours, I find the game doesn't get stale due to the procedural generated caves, making no two missions the same. Also a ton of content to unlock, most of which is cosmetic (the gameplay affecting content you can get pretty quickly if you grind it), but the latest change in Season 5, which lets you replay past seasons, makes things worlds better.

Synopsis: An interesting blend of DigDug and Metroid, where you drill and pickaxe your way through strata, grabbing ores and gems as you go, making your way from cave to cave in search of upgrades and the reason why your deceased uncle left you a mining claim in a town with a population of 3. Back topside you can sell your goods for cash, which you can use to buy additional incremental upgrades for the major ones you've found in your travels.

It's a fun little game, though it does have it's quirks. Some of the navigating can be tricky, such as wall jumping, and you can't dig upwards at a diagonal, so be careful you don't get stuck, because having to self destruct (or any other death) means losing half your cash and dropping all your loot (this last bit can be recovered). Worth your time, which won't be much because the speed achievement requires you to beat it in around 2 hours (it took my 7, but I grabbed all the loot, and died more than a few times from digging under a rock). I'd suggest getting it around $2.50, and enjoying a sadly brief respite from Real Life (c) problems. I give it an 8/10.

Synopsis: A fantastically simple little adventure game. Explore the ruins of Earth to find the fiend that stole your power crystal, the device you need survive. In the process, find out what happened to man, and your surprising role in the end of the world. Make choices that change the final results of the game, and tackle puzzles that can be, at times, a bit too challenging. Enjoy the humorous back and forth between the main character (voiced by the narrator for Bastion) and his flying sidekick. A great game to play in short bursts if you tend to get stuck, or in a longer sitting if you have the fundamentals of combining items in you inventory together to form the key piece you need.

Multiple playthroughs, or saving at critical moments, are required in order to see all possible endings, of which, there are at least 7, but what happens after those possible ending scenarios depends on what you accomplished during the game - who you saved, who you let die, etc. Took me about 7 hours during the first playthrough, largely because some of the puzzles are a bit tricky (oh, wait, I can use the Signal Transmitter on that blue light to solve this puzzle...huh.). A second playthrough took about a third of that time. I found the environment and story the game told, as well as the solidness of the gameplay, well worth my $2.50 investment, but it wouldn't be a bad deal to get it for a bit more than that, because I've rated this one 9/10.

Synopsis: A fun game that expands upon the original by including an additional play mode - Omaha style poker. In addition, the AI system has be revamped and over all this game is much more difficult than it's predecessor. The unlock system has also been improved, both for in game items like tables, cards, and chips, as well as the cross promotional items that you'll get for Team Fortress 2 and Borderlands 2. There are some flaws here though, particularly a fringe case in the item unlock system that will make you want to break something, and an AI that seems to get far too lucky on the final card. Still, not a bad game to pick up and play in 20-30 minute increments.

The amount of time you can get out of this one varies based on how good/lucky you are, and just what it is you expect to get out of the game. I put in 15 hours or so to get everything in game and all but one achievement, which I could probably have in the next hour or so. I've rated it a 7/10, and recommend picking it up at $2.50, though I have seen it as low as $0.99.

Synopsis: A great game that combines, at about a 2-1 ratio, melee heavy combat with stealth focused areas. Comparing this game to Zelda seems rather apt, as you'll find that you can only explore a portion of a current zone (i.e. dungeon) until you uncover the one key item you need to get to the boss, which will allow you to unlock a bit more of the somewhat open world. Combat is fun, as you deal with multiple enemy types when engaged in melee, requiring you to attack stun baton enemies from behind, knife wielding enemies to be stunned with your cape first, and generally paying attention to which of the dozen enemies you're fighting will be attacking you first. Plenty of collectibles out there is you feel like solving some of the Riddler's puzzles, and while the game is focused on the Joker vs. Batman rivalry, the game does a great job of bringing in a variety of major Batman villains.

Expect about 16 hours to get a 100% completion on the story side. I've rated it an 9/10, and recommend picking it up at $10 or less, though you can probably find it at $5 during a major sale.
