The first fallout I played was FO3 and then I fell in love with FO:NV. I've never been super into the main stories but love that there are countless hours of side quests just like New Vegas. The combat is much improved over the previous games so hiding and shooting isn't as effective. Also the removal of VATS stopping time encourages much smarter game play when on higher difficulty settings.
