I love the fact that Milestone & Mattel did not forget about the AcceleRacers. Maybe we'll get some more in the future; many already existing in the base game.

This legitimately was one of my best video game experiences ever. I loved every inch of it and I certainly will remember this forever.

The Crew 2 is an open world arcade racing game with the map being the literal entire USA, downscaled to videogame size obviously. Also, i'm hyped for Motorfest even though i'll have to wait another year because Ubisoft, once again, decided to go to Epic Games. They already did come back crawling because Epic didn't work as good as they thought and yet here we are looking at them doing the exact same mistake again missing out on tons of sales because of the selling platform ONLY. Anyways.

I have done every single peace of Content this game has to offer, from races to photo ops but "skills" too and i can tell you i hated almost everything about this game; special hate goes out to every single Boat and Plane activity. I loved playing it, i mean it made me play for 200h+ but i will not ignore how bad of a videogame it actually is

People complain about the Crew 2 but i think its for the wrong reasons; most of the critism is about the grindy aspect of this game and yes they are right it indeed is one of the grindiest racing games ever but to be absolutely honest.. i bought a racing game to win races, if the grind is based on racing then why would i complain? anyways, theres seemingly endless content to be played, most of it feels either the same or really really alike but i really appreciate the cheer amount of content Ivory Tower came up with, set peaces and special events really look and feel cool to go through but it is obvious that most of it were simple instagram filters being put onto your screen to make it feel different even if it mostly isn't.

Graphics are OKAY, it does look outdated compared to even older titles and the antialasing is basically non existent, the backmirrors do not work and your headlights are literally looking like transparent yellow JPGs to make it look like there was light but it actually is no light source at all inside the game engine, the steering wheel barely moves at higher speeds. It definetily has its moments though, it can look pretty and sometimes i had more NFS Underground Vibes than the past 5 Need for Speeds were able to get me but the fact the night time got literally massacred in order to cover up non functioning headlights really bothers me

Heres what i think is important to know before getting into it
Anything you do, wether it be menu navigation or real time gameplay, it feels like a mobile game with PC features. Theres so many decisions made in design which simply go all against the user experience to make it as annyoing and uncomfortable as possible and i will have to give you a couple examples to make some sense of what i actually mean:

Every time you finish a race theres an unskippable animation playing telling you that you won, how much XP you got and how much money you earned, it takes almost 10 seconds every single time, right after that you'll see some funny colorfull packages spawning in front of your car so you collect them, these are literally random generated tuning parts which also have (feelingly) hundreds of additional passive effects besides pushing the cars perfomance. Once your inventory is full and you tuned up your car, you gotta dismantle the stuff you don't need and that.. takes way too much time. I could guess that 1/3 of my playtime was dismantling tuning parts only.
This entire process is what you get for playing the game. The Tuning is based on RPG NUMBERS and STATS, its no new super duper new engine you build into your car, its literally the same thing now being purple instead of blue (rarity=quality) and the number goes up from 245 to 247.
Other than that the Visual Freedom of your car is astonishingly huge, less for the GT and Hyper Classes but more than ever in street race cars, generally the car selection is almost as impressive as Forzas is.

The AI in your races also base their difficulty on those RPG like "Perfomance Numbers", meaning your car has to have a "220-Stat" to be able to compete in that specific race; this system leads to the AI being either entirely broken or not existent at all. One side of the game makes you want to own as many cars and have as much variety as possible, on the other side theres really obvious differences in cars in same classes. Almost every Muscle Car feels underpowered as hell while other "meta-cars" will have no problems whatsoever; Some cars really do struggle a ton to keep up with the AI, others will make you simply drive the course to the finish line making it a personal time trial.

But wait! theres more! The Crew 2 has an RPG like Skill Tree. It enhanced passive things like "slipstream power", range, effectiveness, it enhanced your nitrous in 7 different ways and makes competing against other lower level people a joke; actually the PVP section of this game is dead since release because of the slipstream mechanic which is absolute BS, you can literally hear your car gaining +100HP as you drive behind your mate. This is a racing game, no MMORPG and most certainly no MOBA, i genuinenly do not understand how one could implement such things into a racing game, making a skill set almost obsolete (of course you still have to know how to drive lol)

Also, there is an ingame real-money shop for you to buy cosmetics, car bundles and battle pass though you can buy the battle pass with ingame money you get from playing

On the plus side though, i really like how easy accessable the multiplayer is. You invite your friend to the party, you choose a race and there you go, no overcomplicated crap needed for this.

I love playing this game but i seriously hate everything that comes with it.
In sale for less than 15 bucks, its a good deal for the amount of content you get.

This is way more enjoyable than i initially thought when buying Retrowave. It is an endlessrunner; something you can relax and waste some time on while still feeling challenged and entertained. No Adds, No Battlepasses, No overpriced DLC, No Forced Internet Connection. This is very good and is absolutely perfect for its price.
(Basically for some situation with friends who talk about what games we'd play together for half an hour already)

Music and Aesthetics is very good, quite a few recognizable remixes of old classics. Vehicle varity is surprisingly big and theres basic perfomance upgrading too and of course you can change the colour of your vehicle as well.

Some maps from the Map Pack DLC as well as those which came for free as this was an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ update have huge perfomance problems in terms of dropping fps from 300 to literally constant 63 and it feels terrible so this needs to be fixed, until then you'd have to ignore those maps entirely since it comes with huge input lag what makes it unplayable besides the slow mo gameplay you're having.

Have fun.

Constant Crashing got fixed entirely, i also enable V-Sync via Nvidia Control Panel to remove screentearing completely and it also helped frametimes a lot.

Running a R7 5800x + GTX 1080 Ti playing at 1080p

Having set everything on "Ultra" except for Sky Quality and Shadows which are set to "High", this game runs perfectly smooth from 60-80 FPS

Though i can't access DLSS but AMDs software based FSR carries my cards perfomance butt.

Grand Theft Auto III was originally released in 2001 and basically revolutionized the Non-Linear Open World Gameplay. Extreme amount of Free Roam Activity, Missions to accept in Order you want and a (kind of?) functioning police system. Characters had animated faces, actual voice acting with smart dialogue. I'm sure that this was a really fun game back then. Please, Download the original games on your modern computer today and experience the 3 minutes of fun you'll have until you press start new game.

In order to play the originals you'd have to get into serious modding until it barely ran drugged on so I'm glad that this "Definitive Edition" atleast IS playable at higher framerates than 24 with modern controlls on modern system. I'm aware of the initial release version of this trilogy and i guarantee that i had zero problems with save files, this game did not crash once in 44 hours and it looks pretty. Rain looks like Rain, Collision Problems have been fixed as far as i've noticed and tons of missing stuff got added (like the middlefinger to the police). There is a lot of Quality of Life Improvements which did not exist before
- Weapon/ Radio Wheel
- GPS
- Auto Save + Mission Checkpoint + Cloud Support
- Achievements
- Full Controller Support
Graphics look good, animations do work and the aesthetics and artstyle remained the same; though i sure that GTA III was a lot more "blue-ish";

What i indeed had to fix myself were some weird graphics bugs/ glitches like flashing blue textures on buildings walls most noticable at night. What I ended up doing which actually fixed everything graphics based was simply capping the FPS to 60 in the NVIDIA Control Pannel. Also, this fixed Frametimes almost perfectly. I know that most people nowdays get annoyed by FPS Caps because of higher refresh rates but it runs the smoothest like this. ps: "-dx12"

Other than that, this Game runs perfectly fine. I'm running a R7 5800x + 1080 Ti.

What i actually despised about Grand Theft Auto III The Definitive Edition actually was the Grand Theft Auto III part. I know it is not fair because of the games age, they simply couldn't do better and for what it was back in 2001, it indeed was an incredible video game. I like the straight forward "story", i like the radio even with half the soundtrack cut off, i like the whole Liberty City Old School Vibe with simple Mechanics yet challenging missions. But..

Have you ever spent 20 Minutes of your Life beating a tough mission and right at the end you get yanked or blown up or simply have a heart attack for no explainable reason? Yeah. This Game. Anway. There is so much Design Choices that I sincerely do not understand. Most of this is probably due to technical restriction but this fact does not make any of this less annoying or frustrating.

When driving, traffic loads in as you move your camera. Meaning, you'd look around and a millisecond later you'll have a whole different traffic which can be hard to get used to in missions or activities specifically requesting to search for certain vehicles. Also, it is freakin' unpredictable. I wouldn't be able to count the amount of times I had been crashed away because some driver decides turn at the last possible second. This is a huge problem at the Parademic Mission.

In Parademics Mission you have to beat the levels up to and including 12, the amount of passengers adding by 1 each level with the ambulance having seats for 3. A Mission easily doable in 20 Minutes and about 50-70 people rescued, i literally had to save 370 people until i passed through this entire thing. I almost always failed at level 10 or 11 so i had to re-do the whole thing multiple times but the handling of this crappy ambulance is crap easily flipping over; once you flipped over you'll have to leave your car because flipped over cars become time bombs, ending the mission. Beating level 12 rewards you with infinite sprint which was quite helpful but is also required for 100% completion. The fact that people will start shooting at the moment they see you does not help. Speaking of which!

When passing through specific missions it happens that some faction you just fought against is mad at you for the rest of your playthrough, means that they'll attack you as soon as they see you. Many of them have Guns. The Mafia also has Shotguns. Those Shotguns need two Shots to make your car go boom. They do not require to see your face, they get the attention through the player character only. So they always see you no matter what car you are in, no matter how many times you'd change it. In GTA San Andreas Gang Members will actually walk to your car, look into it and THEN shoot if you're not one of them. In GTA III, they straight up shoot at you without being able to react to that. The Amount of Times i simply wanted to drive through Saint Marks blowing up without any warning or a way to avoid the shots is hilarious. You will not be able to Beat the Turismo Race after the Mafia starts hating you. The race leads through this exact streets and i blew up every single time; trying to avoid this shooting is not possible. Had to start a new Game because of that. Same goes for the rest of those vehicle missions. Worst time was when i simply wanted to make the stretch from Portland Harbor to the Save House needing 5+ attempts just to arrive. You don't have anything to counter this and after dying you'll have your weapons lost. Ammunation is in the Mafia streets so good luck with that.

Combat is stiff. Yes you can aim properly but the combat is not good. Enemies may not have hit scan weapons anymore but the gameplay mechanics do not allow for variation at anything. Not being able to move in order to shoot with bigger weapons is absolutely fine but it is no fun if i get stun-locked by anything. You will always have to stand somewhere, aim your weapon, shoot, put your weapon away, move to avoid being shot, stand still, aim, shoot; that plays exactly like it just read but do not think you actually can avoid damage. Not having armor in any situation is a big minus. There are ways to get weapons and armor early on like the Uzi by collecting hidden packages or the AK-47 + Armor just laying around after gaining a bit of map knowledge.- I used an interactive map on the second monitor to gain all the collectable and secret stuff.

Police is also fun. I won't get into the GTA Logic about Cops being mad at you because of something you did not do but in this game they do their best to drive straight towards you. They can bust you point blank straight off the vehicle even from the door on the right! Increasingly cool it gets when police officers literally drive you over and park on top of your body so you won't get up, naturally you die.

I did play this game with 100% Completion. Trophies both on Steam (29) and Social Club (44). I do not like the fact that you can't replay missions. I do not like the fact that you get locked out off 100% when not doing the missions in the correct order (since some of them require the kill off certain characters from which you would have gotten another mission), I SINCERELY HATED THAT "King of Liberty" TROPHY DID NOT POP! I literally have 43 out of 44 Trophies unlocked but the King of Liberty, the one which literally says "Get all Trophies" doesn't pop, not in Social Club nor in Steam. I especially loved that Social Club recognized the 100% achievement but not the one for beating the third mission so i had to start a new game for that.

The Problem with all the complaints is that i really like this game but i sincerely hate every inch of it besides the chatterbox and advertisements in radio. I do want to make it a thumbs up though.
Those Definitive but no so Definitive Editions indeed are playable versions with modern QoL improvements. And YES you CAN mod this game too. Bought it for 30 Bucks in sale, you should too if interested.

First things First: I have NOT experienced one single crash in 8 hours playtime so far.
Ryzen 7 5800x, GTX 1080 Ti, Maxed out Graphics -> 80 - 120 FPS inside the city; barely noticable drops as new sections get loaded.

Yes, i do miss Steam achievements too. Maybe they think about implementing them since thats a literal sh1tstorm for Ubisoft. I haven't bought any Ubisoft releases since they left Steam so i'm happy they came back crawling asking for some money.- Epic Games did not go so well after all.
Though, 9 Bucks for the Base Game is a good catch so buy in sale if interested.

edit: they actually did add steam achievements with the latest update.

Game is still fun; it plays EXACTLY like The Divsion 1 with additional features and that is exactly what i wanted.
Since this is a Classic Looter Shooter, Enemies will tend to be huge bullet sponges, BUT DO NOT WORRY, BECAUSE:
YES - SNIPER RIFLES DO ONE SHOT PEOPLE when hitting the head
YES - SHOTGUNS DO ONE SHOT PEOPLE TOO in close combat
The only sillyness comes up when Special Enemies arrive, thats the purple "Medium Sponge" and a Heavy Armored Golden One which represent "bosses" in that sense; other than that, the time to kill is bearable.
AI does try to flank me, they do react to supressive fire, they do throw grenades and use RC Car Bombs. Fundamental Combat and Gameplay Loop is fun. You can't just run through, COD BE-LIKE but the game does let you perform better than the game intially expected you to.

Washington DC looks stunning, they really got that Post Apocalyptic atmosphere right with nature recovering and retrieving literally everything. The Open World itself feels alive thanks to patroling npcs reacting to the player, animals reacting scared as they seem to notice you. Two different factions having a little battle on the streets after bypassing randomly with you having literally nothing to do with it; you could literally watch them fight their war out and moving on; such details makes the world feel more alive, less centered AROUND you but rather You existing INSIDE THIS WORLD. Assassins Creed Valhalla for example, nothing, literally nothing happens without the main protagonist but thats another story. Dynamic weather effects + Day&Night Cycle exists. Graphically, it looks really good. Some cases of "First one Looked better in that department" exist but its rather at low numbers. You have clear vision without blurry images, no random low res textures and the antialasing works surprisingly good, almost no flickering at all!

Animation and Voice acting is good as usual, though the fact that it's the silent protagonist once again; i always found this to be kind of awkward when people in games say stuff to you but never actually talk with you; you just nod and accept everything they say; it's especially amusing when multiple people are in the call, including you, with them talking ABOUT you like you weren't there BUT thats just me i guess.

Story, as far as i came within 8 hours will probably be very similar to Divsion 1 but thats nothing i would consider bad; you basically clear the city from bad people while helping rebuilding the Headquarters and multiple Settlements searching for material, resources and food+water because YOU are THE DIVISION and YOU HELP people because you're such a selfless guy i guess? It's enough to make sense in some way but also gives a long term goal with achievements throughout progression; imersion and atmosphere are supporting the feel of dystopia and apocalypse.

A couple things do really annoy me though:

i don't get the purpose of Replayable Main and Side Missions, the game simply does not tell you the benefit besides loot rewards and xp; it's marked blue on the map and looks like something i've not completed, yet certain other missions do not get the same treatment being marked as "completed" as it should be while ability to replay should always exist

Additional FOV Slider does not seem to change the actual FOV in a noticable way

As you leave the White House which is the Base of Operations you instantly get a call to visit a person leading to the Warlords DLC, EVERY SINGLE TIME. Since you Skill your Character in the HQ and ONLY there, you'll visit this place quite often. BUT WAIT! THERES MORE! You do get this call even if you do not own this DLC. Ubisoft really wants to sell you this Expansion. I'm not talking about the Quality and Worth of this DLC itself, this is the literal end game (endgame hiding behind a paywall is always dumb btw) but rather about the obtrusiveness to make you basically skip the entire base game and i'm not even kidding, you can boost your character to lvl 30 and get to the Expansion directly right after starting the game for the very first time. It's like they don't even want you to play their game; they literally make this up as urgent emergencies which in absolutely no way can wait a minute longer

Controls of Skills in need of Re-Activation such as Seeker Mines or Drones feel unresponsive and aiming is too inaccurate so it takes too long which makes the entire usage obsolete if you can simply shoot your way through your enemies faster without them
(BTW, Skills are usuable GADGETS, PERKS are Character UPGRADES, GEAR is your LOADOUT)
Oh Yeah, Talking about Skills. None of them feel good to use; some are stronger than others. It's basically a little Wall Hack marking Enemies which usually happens automaticly without it, A Turret, A flying Turret, a rolling Grenade in addition to your regular grenades and a Shield in case you somehow run out of cover in this cover based shooter oh and don't forget the Chem Launcher launching.. toxic.. clouds? YES, they each indeed do have further specification but sorry, i'm not interested in 4 different variations of colored smoke, 3 different turrets and intelligent grenades which do absolutely the same thing as normal grenades but with extra steps

I am missing the Open World Music deploying dynamicly as you wander through the wasteland of a city which Division 1 definitely had; This one does have this too but it's not as constant hense less noticable; its only short little perfomances, just wish they were longer and a tad more present

I also love those areas on the map which simply refuse to tell you what level you should have in order to enter this area

I hope those Achievements come in eventually; i really do like this game despite everything negative above.
It certainly is not a bad game, it's plagued by flawful design choices but it's not bad at all.

Thank you for reading.

Flatout probably is one of the most underrated racing franchises in history. It is known for its destruction. This game in particular probably for its challenge too.
When being younger i only played the hell out of FlatOut 2, which is by far the better game. I have a lot of experience in racing games, i love them, of course i wanted to pick this one up since it's in sale for less than 2 Bucks. Just for the sake of being able to say "Yep, i did play this game!".

This game is as simple as it sounds: Racing & Destruction. You have a campaign, containing "levels" divided Bronze, Silver and Gold which have different sets of courses. Those courses have four different locations and conditions (Forest, construction site, snow/ice area and some kind of suburb each having different routes. With Each Set won, you unlock Bonus Levels consisting of Crashderby and Fun Modes with your Driver Ragdoll being the literal controllable "Ball" for Bowling, high jump etc.

Is this Videogame a Good Videogame?

FlatOut did not Lag, Crash or Bug Out even once. Using Windows 10, I7 7700k + GTX 1080 Ti. Since there is no controller support, i played on my Keyboard (WASD setting)

For todays standards: No. Not at all. In 2005, the main selling point indeed was the destruction. This still does work good. It is just no fun at all in this game. The reason for this is simply the physics.

Do not get me wrong, the physics are great and work as intended. It is just the typcial racing game flaws which make the game harder than it should be and trust me: This Game is extremely hard. FlatOut rewards you by giving Nitrous during the race and paying extra credits after the race for causing chaos and destruction, not only for enemy cars but also destructable objects distributed along the route. This is fine. The Damage cars take actually does alter the handling and capability. This is also fine. But.. If FlatOut didn't punish you while trying to cause Chaos & Destruction, this would be a legitimate game mechanic. Every single object representing basic obstacles on the track (like tree trunks in the forest, contruction equipment, barrels etc) does have way too much weight. Your car gets slown down way too hard when driving through anything plus the damage is big. It does not make sense to actually play for this mechanic. If you want to get to the finish line AND win the race, you can not play like this. It is too risky and too little rewarding. AI vehicle also have, oh my god, SO much weight on them that its literally suicide trying to crash them out.
You have got to imagine: YOU crashing THEM, with or without nitrous, it does nothing but damage to your own car. THEM touching YOU makes your car fly. Your own car generally is really sensitive to anything. Sometimes you sneeze too hard and the driver goes flying. In addition to that, the pure driving physics do work and feel natural but also very unresponsive and kind of cluncy which forces you to be EXTREMELY precice. All this makes this game, as said before, really hard. I was and still am impressed by the AI not rubberbanding those courses, making actual mistakes and being only slightly aggressive.
There is no difficulty setting which basically means that if you struggle to win races.. You gotta git gud.
Either you'll be first 10 seconds into the race so your only enemy shall be the streets, thats basically 5 minutes boring "gameplay" OR you get crashed all the time because you're too frustrated because of those physics lol; first situation still requires you to be, also as said before, very precise. One single little mistake will make you go fly and it takes only a couple of seconds to be overtaken, which also can get really frustrating 4 minutes into the race.

There is a good amount of vehicles you can choose from, non licensed ones, all being "Crappy" and for destruction intented. You Buy Cars with Credits gained by winning races and bonus events and you also tune them up in terms of perfomance. Since there is no garage, meaning you own only one car at a time, there is no sense in buying anything besides the best one you can get. In total, i drove only three different cars. (you unlock more and better ones while progressing)

Did I enjoy this Videogame? Do I recommend this Videogame?

Yes, I did and Yes, I do. Quite a lot actually. I had to do A LOT of restarting (the races, not the game). In theory, you should be able to beat this game within 2-3 hours. I legit needed almost 9. Felt like the Souls-Like of racing games, just like Midnight Club 2 but on a different vibe. Thing is: The moment you notice your own improvement feels awesome. Actually beating every single race in first position? I really felt like the Giga-Giga-Chad himself.
As I said: Physics, Handling and Visuals work as intended, it's just plagued by typical racing game problems even todays games still have.

Trial & Error, Repeat & Adjust. I guess this is the best description for my playthrough. You not only have to study those courses, you really have to constantly "fight" to win a race. I do not think that i would replay this game, like ever, since FlatOut 2 still is the better videogame to waste my time on. But even with that said, i'm glad i played this through. In sale for less then 2 Bucks, it was worth it. For me at least.
