Fifth-grade me who'd become obsessed with space would have lost his mind at this game. I've put over 300 hours into it but have still only visited a portion of the celestial bodies in the solar system. It's taught me so much, and it can be brutal and frustrating, but it's also yielded some of the most satisfying moments I've had in gaming. The mods were essential in years past but now with the final release of the game having the most helpful ones incorporated, you can get by with stock.

Early Lucasarts adventure classic. Has a unique game mechanic that keeps it fun and engaging.

A truly worthy successor to Deus Ex. Compelling story and great rpg+action blend of gameplay.

Synergy lets you play through the Half-life 2 (+episodes) single player campaign in co-op with friends. Great fun!

I can't recommend Deus Ex highly enough. It is my favorite game of all time. I've played it through 5-6 times and every time I do I encounter new dialog depending on the choices I make in the game.

Needs no introduction. Potentially hundreds of hours of playability. I'm at 156 hours now with GTA4 and both episodes beaten (but not all side quests beaten yet in the episodes).

Very difficult platformer but the levels are short and the game's mechanics work in a way that you can more easily tolerate the high difficulty. Most importantly, it's fun to play.

Mindless fun. Ignore the story, load up some mods and the Bolo Trainer and have fun.
