More of the same and as scripted as ever, but still fun. Achievements are easy, only the Legendary tournament might offer a bit of difficulty. I never understood the obsession with Senna but obviously I'm not Brazilian.

These two maps are meant to mix things up once you get bored of the original one, as they are completely different, both in layout and objectives. They are well thought out and fun to play on so no objections here. Also if you want to play online you'll probably need these, as I feel the majority of online games takes place on these ever since they were released. Speaking of online... The developers included an achievement for 10 online victories, something I typically strongly disapprove of. I managed to grind out my 10 wins but be aware that the online regulars are mostly very experienced players, which can make it a frustrating experience for someone relatively new who just wants the achievement.

In the prelude phase you choose two prelude cards - which improve your starting economy - out of a random draw of four. This makes the game more random than it was, because a particularly lucky draw (tailored to the strength of your corporation) will create a minmaxed beginning that's hard to compete against. I love randommess so this is fine with me but I imagine some more hardcore-minded players might want to be aware of this. The new, optional win condition for solo mode is more difficult than the basic one and as such I don't like to use it. Still, I feel this expansion is essential as the prelude phase adds both flavour and momentum to the early game.

I love Vampire Survivors so much that I was hoping it would spawn a genre of its own. And games like this seem to indicate that my hopes - for once - will be realised! It even carries on the tradition of having a low price. The few staves (projectile typs) available feel unique enough that I wanted to at least try each one a few times. And the upgrades (perks) do a good job of making the player feel increasingly more powerful. The developer estimates there's 10 hours worth of entertainment here but I feel like if you want to get all of the achievements it will be much more. At least it was for me. Addictive, fun and cheap, great combination.

A spiritual successor to Hitman GO. Even though there is no story connection I recommend starting with that one as a warmup - it's significantly easier than this while having very similar gameplay. Which is not surprising when you consider that Lara Croft GO adds puzzles on three-dimensional boards. The graphics are less artsy, less detailed and more abstract compared to Hitman, but they still get the job done. There's even a boss battle now, which is quite surprising for this kind of game. Overall fun and recommendable but honestly I liked Hitman GO more still.

Full disclosure: I'm in the Credits of this game and biased, as it reminds me of a better, simpler time. But irrespective of that it's still a competent puzzle game which slowly builds up the difficulty and introduces new mechanics. The exquisite diorama-style visuals combined with low-key ambient music make for a contemplative and relaxing experience. Microtransactions which were present in the mobile version are removed here, which is great. Achievements are easy to get with one playthrough. Definitely recommended.

A god-game reminiscent of Populous and the like, though obviously much simpler and quicker (a playthrough ending with a win takes about 30 to 40 minutes). Actions are represented by a deck of consumable cards, and you can only take those actions which are currently in your hand. Some of these have biome-specific outcomes: the critter action spawns a sheep when used on a tundra tile, a bear on a snowfields tile and a random choice of the two on a forest tile.

My main complaint about this game is the shoddy villager AI, which becomes apparent in the endgame. When approaching modernity the final few leaps rely on humans to pickup specific resources and do specific things, but they refuse to for a long time. Oil wells go unbuilt and umnaintained. Batteries are not picked up. Computer is not built. The people just get stuck in a loop of eating and pooping. Usually if you wait long enough it will happen but it is frustrating, especially compared to how smooth the earlier ages go. Overall though it is a fun strategy game in a cute little package and the "one more try" feeling was keenly felt, even when I would lose due to no fault of my own.

This is Cultist Simulator gameplay, but 2 or 3 orders of magnitude simpler. And shorter, which is a wonderful thing. Cultist Simulator is mindblowingly good, but takes so long to complete a game that I dropped it after my first win. This is much more manageable. The "bad" thing about this is that there is little replay value once you win, as there are no real choices/paths to victory/random events etc. Devs have stated their intent to add 100+ cards soon, which could make the previous sentence obsolete. A fun, mostly chillaxed, linear solitaire game. You can set the difficulty level by choosing how long a "day" lasts, which in turn impacts how often villagers have to be fed, how often monsters might attack etc. I really liked the clean, minimalistic presentation.

Frustrating but addictive; difficult but fair (mostly). Once I got past the initial bump in the learning curve it became more enjoyable, so try to stick with it. Overall a novel take on what a 2d shooter can be, and also what an action roguelite can be. The achievements are easy to get, nothing too crazy.

I bought this not only because I enjoy typing games but also because I wanted to test and "break in" my brand new keyboard. The idea is really fresh - I don't think I've ever seen tower defense combined with a typing game. There are four difficulty levels and while "Hard" is still reasonable, "Insane" will prove too difficult for most people, myself included. There would be nothing wrong with that if there weren't achievements tied to completing the game perfectly on all difficulty levels, hence the thumbs down. Also in the part where full sentences are written, these are a bunch of pretentious and/or banal quotes which get tiresome quickly.
