The puzzles are kinda on the easy side, but that's how I like them. Music is terrible so I turned it off and there is some repetition of crossword clues. Other than that, no complaints!

I own the physical board game based on this, which is pretty good, so I thought the precursor would be as well. Unsurprisingly the art style is the same in both, and now I also understand why one of the pilots is a canary. The simple story is fun and I appreciate the kind of choice it allows you to make at the end. The gameplay makes a great first impression, however it starts getting somewhat boring and then frustrating after 2 hours unless you really enjoy the core digging experience for some reason. By the time I got to a 2nd playthrough I was mostly disinterested, so the replayability is not that great. And then I got seriously trolled when I went to complete Hardcore mode for an achievement. In this mode you also die (permanently) when your vehicle runs out of fuel - unlike in the standard game. This is not explained anywhere so I failed around 3 attempts by running out of fuel and wondering why do I explode "randomly" before googling it. I would've preferred to give a "neutral" recommendation, but since that's not possible I'll go with a negative. It's not a terrible game by any means, but maybe try getting it at a steep discount.

The story is sappy to the point of being cringe, probably the weakest aspect of the game. And it has quite a few graphical bugs, although most of them are minor. The actual gameplay however is solid enough to warrant a recommendation. It feels like a "bootleg Hades", which is still a compliment. Achievements are easy and can be gotten by completing the game once followed by some light grinding. The DLCs feel kinda unimportant so if you don't get them, you're not missing out on much.

Challenging but fair if you put in some effort to get used to the flow of the combat. Very addictive despite being somewhat frustrating. Has a great pixel-cyberpunk vibe.

I bought this after seeing a Twitch streamer play it. So fun! So addictive! Twitch can be useful after all.

Faster Than Light in FPS mode. Much better than expected. Get the DLC - it adds essential side content and also required for several achievements.

I've been avoiding this game for a long time beacuse it has the EA sticker on it. I only gave it a shot after watching various streamers play it on Twitch and I'm glad I did. It might have its fair share of problems at the hardcore competitive level, but at the casual level it's great to goof around in. The Steam achievements can be 100%'d in around 60 hours (YMMV obviously).
