Player morale has already been at an all time low following an extremely lackluster expansion, and Bungie decides to make possibly one of the most boneheaded moves a company could make when the entire world is one wrong move from completely turning on them.

In light of recent news surrounding Bungie as a company and the absolute scummy decisions upper management and executives made, it is time to no longer contribute my time or money to this game or company as a whole. Laying of 8% of your staff, some long time veterans of the company dating back to Halo, on the last day of the month so they only have 1 day of benefits, AND knowing that all of these employees unvested shares in the company will revert back to them as a result of the Sony merger is some of the most disgusting slimy corporate greed I have seen in the gaming industry. Then, for the Bungie CEO to double down and then blame the PLAYERS for the fact they had to lay off so many people because nobody wanted to play Lightfall or pre-order The Final Shape and tell these now-former Bungie employees in a town hall that they were the "wrong people".

I cannot imagine what Bungie thought the player reaction would be to this news. It is clear executives have been out of touch with the player base for years at this point, they ignore pleas from their employees asking them to make the right changes to win the players back, and only listen to what their shareholders want to maximize profits for the company. Im sure Sony is sure wishing they never bought this company now. Bungie has made sure to burn any sort of bridges they had left with the most loyal members of this franchise.
