Thirty hours, still no invite to the wedding :(

I have played this game way too much.
I have played mostly the same nation in this game.
I still play this nation way too much.
It's fun every time, especially if you like renaming ships.

Honestly, you should probably not buy this game right now.
I'd wait until the game runs a little smoother, but the game itself is immaculate.

I'd say, even during this early version of the game, it already is absolutely worth its price.

I can't wait for what this game will turn out to be one day!

Edit: As Sony is not going further with their PSN Plans, I can happily tell you people to buy this game again. FOR SUPER EARTH!

I would love to recommend this game to everyone, as I've done for the first two months of this game.
Unfortunately, I just can't. It's a great game, but Sony is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up for everyone by forcing PSN on to the PC version of this game as well.

I will gladly turn this review into a positive one, once Sony decides to not let corporate greed ruin a great game.

Dredge is a weird mix of a dark, somewhat horror-y game, while still feeling like a "cozy game". It never goes too far into one direction, mixing those two styles perfectly.

I've got 100% of achievements in about 24 hours, but will definitely come back just to get some of the bigger fish I can find.

All in all, very much a recommendation!

Victoria II is probably my favourite game of all times.
While Victoria 3 has it's flaws, it's still a great baseline, and if you can overlook flaws that can easily be fixed by PDX over the next few weeks I think it's worth its money already.
I'm very much looking forward to where this game might be in a few months, especially when the bigger mods start getting released.

I'd definitely recommend this game.
I have been watching streams of Plate Up! for a year now - big thanks to Briony and Kirsty for making them as entertaining as they were/are - and had to buy the game as soon as it released.
Fortunately it was as fun as it looked in those videos, especially with friends. Steam Remote Play works incredibly well, although I haven't tried the four player mode yet.

Edit after 30 more hours played with friends: It's amazing. Even better with friends. Get yourself some friends, friends!
Edit after 40 more hours, both with friends and alone: the only thing I have to say could be a bit better are the unlocks. The last food option unlocks quite late, I've just unlocked it after 80 hours.

Peglin was probably one of the best investments of 16 bucks I've had in a long time.
At time of this review I've spent over 50 hours in this game, and while it still has some balancing to do - the first act is usually quite hard, but if you make it out of act I you usually make it all the way - it's a great base line for the developers to build upon.
The perks are fun, nearly every ball is different enough from the others, and the boss layouts are great fun and a challenge, most of the time.

The soundtrack also slaps.

With Vicky 3 coming up I thought it would be time for me to finally write a review of one of my all time favourite games.

Victoria 2 is a wonderful game by itself, but it is so much better with Mods. The modding community grew quite a bit over the last two years, and there are many mods that could be games on their own - and there's no hurting in starting the game with mods, especially if you play those who just add to the basegame; HPM, GFM or TGC are those that instantly come to mind for me. Everyone who owns this game should definitely try those!

That said: the game is a lot better with the Expansion Packs, even though yellow Prussia became a well-loved meme over the years the base game has many flaws that only really get weeded out by the Expansion Packs.
