Play this game at your own pace.
Don't let someone else push you through the MSQ (or anything for that matter).
There's more toxicity here than you may think depending on who you choose to play with.
Make sure you're among friends you enjoy spending time with (or by yourself).
Some players just skip all cutscenes and go straight for extreme/savage content but don't let that prevent you from enjoying the story yourself.

I don't remember this one!
Almost every single roulette you do will have SOMEONE mentioning they haven't done that particular duty in "years" or "it's been a minute" or "I don't remember ever doing this one."
Just play the game and try not to let it get to you. There are tools out there to help make encounters easier.

Where am I now?
I just finished Endwalker and the story is absolutely the best thing in gaming I've experienced in a while. Shadowbringers has been my favorite and Stormblood is the CORE of the entire arc so it's imperative to pay attention. It's hard to not get the MSQ spoiled online but if you just play this game heads down without looking up any videos until you're done with the MSQ (you're gonna need a couple hundred hours) it's worth it. As far as MMO treadmills and/or stories you could do worse. Next up is Dawntrail but I'm taking a small repose so I don't burnout like I did three years ago where I stopped in Heavensward.

Was it worth it?
Absolutely. I'd do it all again. I'd recommend this game to anyone needing an escape or just something to do for untold hours. I'm still working through content from earlier expansions (which you should make sure you do as it affects your MSQ cutscenes) and enjoying them thoroughly.

Old Review
From a solo player's perspective this is the most fulfilling time I've spent on an RPG in a long time. I'm going to at least play until I finish all the MSQs (Endwalker included; finished ARR just recently). It just so happens to also be an MMO with a very generous free trial. Worth your time. Definitely turn up the BGM over all the other sounds and do yourself a favor: try to start as a Lancer/Archer/Conjurer so you get to experience Gridania as your starting area. Enjoy at your own pace (don't let friends pressure you into speedrunning the MSQ). Take it all in. There's plenty to do. Welcome to Eorzea.
