CrossCode was a massive surprise to me. This unassuming action RPG ended up being one of my favorite games of all time. I have purchased it 3 times now, on GOG, Steam, and Switch. For $20, you get one massive game full of fun combat, well-made puzzles and Zelda-style dungeons, a deeper RPG stat system than was probably necessary (though not unwelcome), nice vibrant 16-bit-inspired visuals, and one hell of a story. Any complaints I have with the game are fairly minor, like the inconsistent platforming and the side quests sometimes being a bit shallow.
