Excellent. 4.5/5

Think Freelancer + Space 4X (ES2/Stellaris, etc.)

Essentially, you are an admiral of a flagship running your own space empire.

Single player--pretty sure there's no multiplayer option?

+:
Engaging, constantly changing open world--lots of fun.
Great progression of ships, classes, and empire-building.
Lots to do (trade, freelance missions, random encounters).
Storyline is fun so far (I'm not nearly through with it though).
Beautiful UI.
Great graphics.

-:
Ship combat takes some getting used to--it's complex, and there are several options for piloting (mouse, keyboard) and camera (chase cam, turret cam, etc.).

Ship automation exists and works well, but it's limited in some respects. The ship navigation is a bit like that of Star Trek Online, but with a fire-at-will option--and you can fly in all 3 dimensions (which makes things a bit confusing sometimes).

There's no "orbit" button, like Eve has (at least that I can find). I would have preferred this option.

There's no target list in the UI (at least that I can find). They should add one.

Tiny bit of a steep learning curve. Not terrible though.
