It's fun and definitely worth picking up on sale. There are a lot of baffling problems that might make it a deal breaker for some though;

I found it to be a step down in many ways from DOOM 2016, which went back to the series roots of having an unconvoluted demon killing fest. Eternal on the other hand has so many abilities bound to keys that it starts approaching MMO levels of keyboard silliness. If you're familiar with that you will probably thrive here like I did but I was a little confused they went for it after 2016's very deliberate (and elegant) simplicity.

I was a bit disappointed by the difficulty playing on Nightmare and it seems the developers figured the complexity of the ability system they added warranted less dangerous levels. There is some more difficult post-game stuff like the Horde mode but these are filled with tedious and boring enemies. The Blood Makyr enemy is literally indestructible until it uses a specific attack that you need to wait for. I never found it particularly threatening but always found it ruined the pace of combat.

And that's maybe the crux of it, the pacing. I hope you enjoy literally being locked in a cage while you get exposition spouted towards you about some lore that you don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about. The mystery of the Slayer is part of the fun and I don't want to hear about his past, I want to kill demons now. There are a few sections in the game where you have to wade through this purple goop that acts like molasses. I have no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue why they decided to ship that part. The game also has some stuttering which I don't remember happening on my computer in the past. It doesn't completely ruin the gameplay as it usually happens towards the start of play sessions but it does dampen the experience a bit.

With all that in mind you'd think I would leave a negative review, but there is still a fun game underneath so I would spend maybe 25 dollars at most on this which is better than a lot of games. One last note is that I think the exploration and secrets are actually a bit better than the predecessor, so it's not all a downgrade.

Good game, went in mostly blind, I think it still would've been fun even had I known more about it. About 7 hours for a 100% save file. The only real issue I had was that as you are nearing the end the gameplay mechanics (for both organizing information and observing information) start to show their flaws and get tiring. It led to some real eye rolling but not enough to completely sour the experience.

That said, the game is very innovative and well thought out overall, and I think it is worth the price and a full play through. I can see myself doing another playthrough of this even having untangled the mystery. Strong recommend.

Great with friends, minimal hassle to play online even modded, tons of stuff to do, stunning visually. Exceptionally polished game, so even if rogue likes aren't my favorite, I really appreciate this one.

There was a staggering amount of work put into the atmosphere of this game. The songs composed by Skaven and the background visuals of different fantastic planets are absolutely beautiful. I'm not normally huge on strategy games but this one does what it wants to pretty well. If you actually came to the store page looking for this sort of thing, this game is uncontested.

Abe's Oddysee was a fantastic platformer that wasn't afraid to go its own way. The only significant problem it had was the inconsistently placed checkpoints, which resulted in a lot of needlessly wasted time.

As a sequel, Abe's Exoddus doesn't make any grand changes to the formula of Oddysee -- but it didn't need to. It is simply more Abe, with more polish. You now have the ability to 'quicksave' through hotkeys or the menu, which basically functions as a save state you can use at any time. It lets the fun puzzle platforming shine. It's a must have on its own, but at the price its sold for, it's an absolute steal.

Step right up, everybody, and come see who will reign supreme as the champion of the MOST BROKEN PC PORTS!

In THIS corner, we have "Munch's Oddysee HD"! Beginning with an actual Android mobile copy of the game, enjoy touch controls ported to keyboard and mouse by someone who has seemingly never used a computer! Absorb the stunning story of Munch's Oddysee through its pre-rendered cutscenes that have been re-encoded at a worse quality than the Xbox version! Trouble hearing? Not a problem with Munch HD! Listen close for the audio clips that are so loud they blast your eardrums -- and listen NOT AT ALL for the game's dynamic music that has been completely broken!

In THE OTHER corner, we have "Munch's Oddysee - Original", the LONG TIME CHAMPION of broken PC ports! Observe the broken controller input and completely screwed mouse movement! Watch in awe as Abe runs through a wall at mach 11 and the game crashes instantly! Worried about the ancient 3D graphics? Worry not, as you realize that the version of DirectX Munch uses is too out of date to even function on modern computers! Crash to desktop again! Finally, cry as you realize that this miserable port is in many ways more functional than the "HD" version!

Who will take the crown? There's only one way to find out -- and that's with YOU wasting your US$4.99 on this miserable excuse for a port!

What's there is good, but there's not much of it. The DLC is priced for the kinds of people that will buy it regardless - the actual value is far less than what they're selling.

Buy the base game, maybe, at 5 dollars or less.

I don't normally have much attention for more strategic, turn based games but I really enjoyed this one. As a whole, it was an experience I still think about a lot.

The game has some weird difficulty spikes in my experience, and as a result you might struggle to get forward in the story at certain points. However, I found that it made the overall experience better and I look back on my first playthrough fondly.

I bought this on my phone and I enjoyed it so much I bought it again on PC. It's perfect for times when you want to play something but might have to drop everything at a moment's notice. The game generally just good, fast fun and the soundtrack is stellar. Always keep this one installed
