There are numerous events to fill your inventory of modification items, equipment, summoning currency, and other things that are needed to level up. Of course, like all free games, if you wish to be VERY competitive (like being the 1% of the most powerful players) you would have to purchase things but if you level up just the right way then you can be a very decent competitor in the game.
