Yah its good. Fun.

Better than I expected. The pvpve part put me off... but @ 34 I haven't been forced into any PvP. I've met some nice people in the community and have been enjoying the game play. Lots of systems to interact for interesting build possibilities to match all play styles. I give it a thumbs up!

Great game, very much a combination of 3rd person flight-shooter (if you want it to be) and strategy game... if you want it to be or some blend of the two which is how I play it. For those thinking this is another Empyrion, honestly the similarities end at you can build your own spacecraft. In Avorion, that happens in space. You cannot walk around in your ship, there is no you that isn't in the context of some sort of craft you are piloting. So all the things that make Empyrion... well they just aren't in this game... and all the things that make Avorion amazing, aren't in Empyrion. It's a great play, it does take some time to really get into the swing of and has a little bit of a learning curve. But well worth the investment of time.

Great game, very deep systems have been created... as they add content this has the potential be truly amazing and have long term legs.

So, I'm 10.5 hours into the game... Some thoughts, I've seen some negative reviews... All I can say, is "Haters are gonna hate!". It's true that the trailers tend to show more, shall we say later game stages. The first 20 levels are using what we could call... primitive gear. but it does start to get better,

So far, I've enjoyed the play experience. You will need to spend time gathering materials, you will need to build something bigger than a tent to house the various stations needed to get to the more advanced tech, and the Vehicle factory and pyro something station, the one for making gasoline, etc are Ginormous!

The one caveat, you cannot pick stations back up... and you cannot build in stone until level 18. It may be worth it for a better start experience to make a small wooden shack with minimal station investments and a lot of boxes to stockpile resources. Harvesting is a fair amount of xp and could potentially get you to stone structure so you can build a place big enough. Best I can tell so far, you might want at least 6x8 in floor space to be comfortably uncrowded. That's the view from level 25 anyhow.

I really love this game and all they have done with it over the last year. Finally getting a friend in with me I can honestly say, if steam didn't lamely restrict nominations to 1 unique game per category... this game would have been my nominee in many of the categories. When I want to relax I can work on my tech level, crafting and building... when I want something more... I can go find trouble pretty easily... all the way to World Bosses if I so desired.

So much more than I expected.

The initial tutorial was such a super turn off... and the early single player game... for lots of reasons people have listed... While those parts persist a bit, the later game is good.... pretty fun, it's pretty much your super hero based, looter-shooter. The group play with friends is fun, and of course... flying and smashing for loot is hard to beat, etc! :D

Great game, still early in release, so there are some bugs. But overall great game direction, currently less than half that map exposed so expect a lot more to open up in the near future. Fast travel options become quite viable one you understand the systems. Combat is much more timing based with dodge, block and counter mechanic that feel more reminiscent of something like Tekken, but simpler. In some ways, combat is simpler than some MMO's, but more challenging to master in others. Player community is a bit different than I'm used to in an MMO, lot's of players who are new to the MMO genre. Lastly, no monthly subscription still has my head spinning a bit given the in game store is just cosmetics.
Overall, a gratifying, fun play experience that should keep you busy for quite a while, with a clear direction of more to come.
