"The first four episodes of WINTERMUTE represent approximately 30 hours of gameplay. Episode Five is in development, and is slated for a late 2023 release. This will bring the WINTERMUTE storyline to its conclusion."

Realistically, Hiterland has fumbled their public reputation by not adhering to their own timelines, and in a way, have shot themselves in the foot. I see both sides of the fence, genuinely.

The Long Dark is a good game, I believe splitting the game into two purchasable items, on paper, was a great idea, but the execution was lacking. I'm not sure I completely understand Hinterland's thought process. This DLC, after a year and a half, is still only 80% complete, with 4 out of the 5 chapters of their story released. Their other DLC, which just released their 5th and seemingly final update, excluded three of the stated game play features, being: A trader, safehouse customization, and the camera and dark room. Additionally, communication about the subject matter, being the lack of promised content, from what I have seen, is nonexistent. I haven't heard or read ANYTHING regarding these missing features, and I am left to wonder if they will simply revise their roadmap to no longer have them while no one is looking.

By not commenting on the state of affairs, consumers are left to fill in the gaps with whatever they can imagine.

With this track record, do you reasonably believe that these products will be finished in a timely manner? Will they be finished at all? Why am I paying full price for a product that is seemingly abandoned? And why hasn't there been clear communication from the studio behind the title, besides saying they're behind schedule?

I understand original owners of The Long Dark received this DLC for free, but what about all of the other paying customers who purchased this product expecting it to be finished. This DLC isn't labeled "Early Access," so why is it being treated as such?

And I do admit the game, in survival, is a solid title able to hold its own upon scrutiny. The same cannot be said for the lackluster and under preforming DLC's that have been pushed out with little regard to the people who coughed up the money.

I am genuinely disappointed in Hinterland. I was excited to play the ENTIRETY of the Tales from The Far Territory, but they have repeated their habit of under preforming once again, and I am no longer surprised.

TLDR: Hinterland continuously under preforms on their promises and I am simply losing the patience in their studio to deliver.

EDIT: Looking at the road map on Hinterland's website it does state that there will be a part 6 for Tales from the Far Territory, so I was mistaken in this regard.
