I was a big fan of the original, and have been looking forward to this since it was announced.

That being said, I am blown away. Arrowhead has put other live service games to shame and really shown how it's done by providing a curated and immersive experience, in addition to the solid 4-player coop gameplay. I can't wait to see what other surprises are rolled out in the days to come.

If you enjoy co-op games, 3rd person shooters, or movies like starship troopers, this game gets an easy recommend. Unlike the first game, it doesn't have any mandatory quality-of-life DLC at this time, and all paid items can be earned in game (granted, if you wanted to unlock EVERYTHING for free it would take a long time). The devs have been very involved in improving and updating the experience since day one, and squashing bugs and issues as they arise.

The game still isn't perfect, but the worst bugs have been squashed and the minor ones are known and being worked on. There's no better time to jump in!
Get the base game to start; you can upgrade to the delux edition if you like it and want to pay more.
