This review had major spoilers.

The year is 2015. I had gotten a PS4 and got a few free games on it, Warframe was one of them. I played through it a bit, and found myself enjoying it. I continue progressing.

The year is 2019. I got Warframe on PC to play through it. Since I had already played through it once, I did it again very quickly. I had also heard of the New War, Railjack, and Fortuna. Fortuna gets released and I absolutely adored it. Then Railjack comes out, and I found it fun and interesting. I didn't dislike it like others did. The story quests at this point go up to Chimera Prologue.

A bunch of other things get released, like the Cambion Drift, the Corpus update, Railjack 2.0, etc. I wasn't as excited for these as the previous updates, but I played nonetheless.

E3 demo for the New War is shown, with Kahl, Veso, and Teshin. I am beyond excited.

The New War is released. I open Warframe, and play through it in 4 hours and 12 minutes.
I feel misled, disappointed, and mildly disgusted.

For one, every single thing leading up to the New War showed Erra and Natah as the antagonists. Turns out Natah is dying, and Erra and Ballas kill her and banish the tenno.

Second, the part I was most excited for, playing as different factions, was about the same as the demo. Kahl wasn't expanded upon, and Veso and Teshin were rinse and repeat. I was majorly disappointed.

Third, Hunhow and the Stalker are brought back. Normally I would say this is a good decision, and I still do, but it feels more like Fan Service. All he does is give a dumb bow and provide some useless info. I was extremely disappointed because this was the first time we saw him in action for 3+ years.

Fourth. The New War changed the antagonist soooo mannnyyy timmmess.
Apostasy Prologue: Ballas is antagonist
Sacrifice: Natah is antagonist.
Chimera Prologue: Ballas is on your side and Natah is antagonist.
Erra: Erra and Natah are antagonist.
The Maker: Erra Is antagonist.
It gets boring over time, continually changing who is the antagonist.
The New War: Erra and Ballad are the antagonists, Natah is neutral(?). Then Natah is violent, then she's good, then Erra is good, and Ballas is a megalomaniac.
Ballas's motives make no sense. First he is on your side and gives you sword. Then he turns on you for whatever reason? I'm surprised how none of the sentients acted like the Goblin King finding the Goblin cleaver in The Hobbit when Ballas holds the Paracesis, as it is essentially the same scenario with different results. I also don't understand why the sentients still attack you when Erra joins with you. Is it just to give you something to shoot at? And why is Erra so weak? He's basically the Lord of Sentients (unless you count Hunhow. I don't. He's hardly done anything), yet he's hardly any stronger than a Typholyst?

Fifth: the Man in the Wall. At the end, it shows the Man in the Wall as an actual man in a wall. Why? It would be better as a title than a descriptor?

Overall the New War has turned me away from Warframe.
3/10
I wish I could say otherwise. But I can't.

Edit: I recently got back into the game, after the Veilbreaker quest came out. I'm not sure what to think about it. I still detest the New War, but I did enjoy the nostalgia and odd discovery of the Void Angels. Provides a little inspiration to me, honestly.

My annoyance with the game has mostly disappeared, but my blood still boils when I think about the New War
