Early Access Review
This game needs to be worked on more, definitely wait for it to get out of early acces, don't buy now.

Good (hybrid) tower defense games should feel rewarding, but unfortunately lumencraft struggles to do so;
Turrets only do 1 type of damage, many upgrades aren't much fun, and attempts at crowd control are poorly rewarded at best or harshly punished at worst, no matter how clever you try to place and manage defensive structures.

Also about the game's main party trick, the tunneling mechanic is very cool on a technical level, but only useful for resource gathering and base expansion (and somehow useless for crowd control), wich turns the experience beyond early-game into "omfg everything is in the way, let's prioritize clearing as much map as possible".

12-5-2022 - i was made aware of an important update, my feedback after it:

- the tutorial can be soft-locked by spending all lumen on the reactor instead of on a drill upgrade
- too many specialized base structures, for an example; why is there a structure for every weapon and even a seperate one to unlock them?
- why can't power expansion be a function of every base structure, even as an upgrade?
- base resources are displayed next to player health and energy, wich gets confusing.
- ammo and the hotbar being displayed in the screen's corner gets tiring on the eyes, since you often need to look at it and the character in the same situation.
- the destructeable terrain still feels more like an obstacle then a feature

and some feedback specifically on the battle phase;

Active and passive crowd control are still mostly useless, because of the way pathing AI works, and because how every enemy is able to dig through everyting except base buildings, why can't walls just have HP like buildings?

If new turret types with distinct sorts of damage and behaviour have been added late-game, i haven't really done more then the tutorial and half the first map.
If thats the case, i hope you'll lower the accesibility treshold to purchase weaker versions of them more early, because to be brutally honest the game is very "meh" at best in the TD department without that variation.

Like, where is a sniper turret that hits everything in its line of fire? or a turret that slows enemies in a range? or one that spreads damage over time (between enemies that touch)? or some wacky tesla coil that makes electricity jump between enemies? you probably get the point.

a slightly short but great game, very compelling to experience blade runner from the perspective of a stray cat, well executed!

the first half hour i thought i was playing a slightly touched up version of the original game, and then it happened.... THE most compelling choice;

to bucket, or not to bucket

Ok wow... so first off, space is bigger in most places, or small and curving in on itself in some, it took a little time to get used to but the non-euclidean space gimmick is pretty awesome and well implemented, its uniquely mind bending!

On the gameplay side things can be a bit basic, the controls are okay but its at times not obvious how some quests exploit the non-euclidean space, and it can be tedious to figure out what you have to do.

Don't expect too much from the story, it is slow in the beginning and simplistic BUT it picks up in an awesome direction at the end (also regarding gameplay and graphics).

-- edit --
just had to add this thought; i think hyperbolica is the most accesible implementation so far, of a game set in curved spaces

this game is a gem, the graphics are like a painting and good work has been put into the atmosphere and feel, the story although short and simple is executed beautifully with visual exposition.

I noticed this game resembles one of the built in UE4 demo's A LOT, so before playing & paying i posted that thought on the forum, only to get permanently banned by a dev within minutes for being "toxic ppl" (literally cited as reason for the ban!).

"Perhaps my judgement was premature" i thought, but unfortunately playing only confirmed my suspicions; this is basically the "rolling ball demo" that comes for free with the Unreal 4 editor... there's some extra maps and music, but otherwise this borders on being a worthless asset flick.

Don't buy this game unless you're one of those bargain bin achievement hunters, as for me i'm going to refund this.

dungeon of the endless can be fun once in a while, but is plagued by syncronization bugs in multiplayer, and the difficulty settings are terrible; you can play it on very easy, or impossible (named "easy"?).
