80+ hours of game play and now I cannot even get to the Bandai splash screen? WTF FromSoft? screw you guys. You burnt me on DS3 I thought meh not _AGAIN_ then there were all the issues and now this crap?

I wish I could recommend this game but I cannot. Random black bars fill the screen and in the open world areas the flickering is maddening. Never mind the stuttering/FPS drops. Buyer beware. I will come back and change my review when they fix these issues(if they fix these issues) but for now I feel like I wasted my money. Waited years to be disappointed par for the course I guess....AWESOME!

Edit: So I have to say I do love Elden Ring. I have it for my PS4 and it is amazing. I prefer playing on my PC and so I stuck with the tinkering and have managed to get it to a playable state. I am still leaving the thumbs down because, and maybe this will sound snobby but, in 2022 I should not have to tinker at all.

Edit edit: I am moving this to recommended only because Steam doesn't have a sliding scale and at this point I 1) have been able to play the game on PC with an XBox controller without any issues and 2) my initial issue is no longer present with the tinkering I did with the settings. It is a poor port though I sort of knew that going into it and so if you can accept that and know you need a controller then you shouldn't have any issues. I would like to see Fromsoft pay some attention to us PC gamers. I gotta be honest though who is trying to play a combat driven game like this on a keyboard? that seems counter intuitive to me. Just my useless opinion though so you do you.
