Behold that which cradled my heart in its vice grip for hours on end-

1000xRESIST is not a game. It is and is not art at the same time; in the literal definition of the word, it is [ART], but- to such a degree that it transcends itself. 1000xRESIST is an experience. It is a staggering tale in an unassuming package that absolutely deserves your time, money, and tears. It is a tell of the human condition, of the human experience and the experiences that tailor us, how they change us and mold us, how... Sometimes, despite our best wishes, the best thing to do is to let go.

To me, art is the world through the theoretical lens of the artist; light through the mosaic of personhood; a tale in unique penmanship; a song you know in a cadence and tone that you have never heard-- every single one of them a glimpse to how someone else views the world, the gravity of which may be lost on you. 1000xRESIST does something amazing and folds an incredible story into an incredible story that is only for you to uncover and to understand. You play as a girl in a post-apocalyptic society that is distant from the surface. Life there is different, as is expected. You find out exactly how different it is and is not.

The story deals in trauma, generational and otherwise, their impact on us and those around us. It deals in oppression, it deals in liberation, it deals in motherhood, it deals in immigration and the ordeal of adapting, it deals in choice- it deals in bleakness, the feeling of how maybe our efforts aren't enough, it deals in the things we do that we might not see, the shade of the tree we will not live to sit under, it deals in things that we have seen- will continue to see- and are seeing in our lifetimes. It shows that inaction is its own decision, and that there can be no half-measures.

My best recommendation that I can give you is that this will change your life; a little, a lot, I don't know. I don't know a thing about you, but something will change. Regardless of where you are in life, physically, mentally, emotionally, chronologically. Our stories are we, and we are our choices. There is a version of you that remains and remains and remains and yet, here you are.

Is that a weight you're willing to carry?
