Excellent FPS action! Portals add a brilliant and complex new dimension to gameplay and map layouts. The games are always fast and the guns are satisfying. The hit and kill sounds, in particular, are great. The matchmaking (pairing up two equally skilled teams) is flawless 98% of the time, which is remarkable, and leads to neck-and-neck games essentially every time. Poor matchmaking is my #1 complaint with essentially every other FPS game and Splitgate seems to have solved this in my 30+ hours of experience.

The primary complaint I have is how annoying/difficult it is to mute players in the lobby or during a game. It's buried within awkward sub-menu screens that are not easy to discover or use and you have to mentally keep track of which player name it is that you want to mute. This is something that should be exceeding easy to do. Problematic players take advantage of this UX/UI "problem" with verbal abuse that is frustrating to hear and then frustrating to stop.

The best 4-player team VS horde style game around, to this day.
