I've had a couple days now to experience the game. Overall, I do enjoy it.

The performance has been fine for me. There's sometimes been some audio stuttering when moving the camera across the battle map but that's mostly been about it. No crashes yet.

The good:
I love the new factions I've had the chance to play, mostly Daemons of Chaos, Slaanesh, Khorne, and Kislev. The armies are thematic and fun to play, and the mechanics have been enjoyable.
I love the outposts. It gives you incentive to actually make allies. Both to bolster some of your garrisons and to supplement your armies with other units. This may be one of my favorite changes.
Multiplayer campaigns have had the best quality of life changes. 8 players is crazy even if I don't know that many people to play with. The addition of simultaneous turns is a godsend when you have someone who takes a bit longer on their turns. Multiplayer campaigns have really had great additions.
I loved the prologue campaign. I've been playing Total War since the first Rome game so I didn't really need the tutorial, but this was by far the most comprehensive tutorial in a total war game. The very story driven narrative that leads right into the main campaigns story was also really enjoyable.

The bad:
The realm of chaos campaign. It just has 0 chill. The vortex campaign in WHII at least had a way to stop someone else from winning if you wanted to take your time. I've felt somewhat stressed with the race for the 4 souls and there's just no time to let the campaign breath. You send your best army into a realm of chaos while still trying to defend your borders and closing off chaos portals so you don't get your ♥♥♥♥ kicked in. I wouldn't even say that the campaign is hard, it's just leaves you with time to take a breath. I'll be so glad once the combined map comes out for the sandbox experience.

I do recommend this game. I'm still having fun even despite the stress of the campaign. I am excited for the future of the game.

Update: Immortal Empires is out. And oh man is it good to have the update. It's still in beta, so there's a lot of polishing to be done and bugs to squash, but it's been really fun so far. I had one crash in the 10 or so hour's I've played so far but otherwise performance has been great and no game breaking bugs. Highly recommended.
