It's been over a decade since I first really got into this game, but would revisit it every few years. The graphics and menuing in the Steam release are significant quality of life improvements. There seems to be some input lag that is most obvious with the mouse inputs, but I am also playing on Linux via Proton, so this might be fixed by the later native release or maybe a future patch?

As far as the gameplay goes, you can death-spiral your fort in the tutorial, as Toady intended.
