The privacy policy for this game is horrendous!! After reading it, I immediately clicked Decline and uninstalled it. They, basically, say they take your privacy seriously, then go on to describe how they won't use your personal data unless you tell them they can, or it's allowed by law. The sheer amount of data they can share and use is crazy.

In addition, I've read that this game's Anti-Cheat system bans players for 24hrs just for using Linux to play it. So, to me, this company sounds very sketchy, and I'm just going to take a pass on this game, even though it looks like it might be fun.

The graphics are, of course, dated, but it's, for the most part, a well constructed point and click game. There is one very frustrating puzzle near the end of the game, which suffers more from the way it's constructed than anything else, and will take some trial and error, and attention to detail to complete. There are some navigation issues in the Edanna Age, due to the dated graphics, but, if you take your time and go slow, you shouldn't miss too much. The soundtrack is awesome and the live-action acting is good; Brad Dourif does a fantastic job in this game!

For those who are used to constantly being told what to do, where to go, and having every important item highlighted in the game for them, this game may not be to your liking. If, however, you enjoy a challenge, and don't mind using your mind to figure things out, this game is a lot of fun!

*This review is for the English version of Chaos on Deponia

This game is a mixed bag of great, good, annoying, bad, very bad, etc. There are bugs in the game that make it hard to get achievements to register, and there is a bug that causes Left-Clicking on inventory items to work only some of the time. So, you may have to click multiple times to select inventory items. Lowering the Refresh Rate, and Frame Rate(FPS) down to 60 helped a lot, but it does not stop this issue.

There are lots of Dialogue Puzzles even a time based puzzle that is a fighting game. I'm surprised they haven't learned from the past mistakes of older Point & Click games; most players don't want to see this kind of mechanic in a game that's supposed to be layed back and fun; not stressful. There are tons of time based, and fighting games if we want to play those. One part of the game requires a player to access the menu system to solve a problem; This is the first Point & Click game I've ever played that had this weird mechanic in a puzzle. How many people are going to think to go to the menu screen to solve a puzzle?! I would suggest saving fairly often in this game as there is another puzzle mechanic that may cause a player to lose hours of progress, but I won't say what it is, as I don't want to spoil it.

There are also issues with illogical puzzles, and dialogue that all but tells you how to solve a puzzle, otherwise known as hand-holding. The beginning of the game has lots of dialogue and cutscenes, which was very annoying. I couldn't perform a single action without the NPCs, in the scene, commenting on what I was doing. There is also a long cutscene that, if you skip it, you miss important information. You can skip through the dialogue in the cutscene but one press of the Escape Key(skip scene), and you may miss crucial information. There are other puzzles that basically force you into the decision they want you to make, and there is next to no chance that you won't solve it; this is what I like to call a pseudo-puzzle.

Another thing that annoyed me was when the dialogue choices you could make were just a couple of words, such as, "Ummm...well...", and, after clicking it, would add a new option of something like, "It's like this...", and this would repeat like four or five times. I don't like having to click there a score of these to hear what could have just been done in a cutscene. Those aren't all the problems I found in the game, but they were some of the main offenders.

With all that said, I did have fun in parts of the game. There were sections of the game where I just wanted the game to be over, then afterwards I'd find myself enjoying the game again. It was like a rollercoaster ride! The English translations, while far from perfect, weren't as horrendous as in Deponia I. There was a big improvement here. There were lots of jokes, and stupid actions Rufus would take that I found hilarious; this type of comedy won't be for everyone. There were a few parts that I thought were overly cruel and, not cool; the way Rufus treats this homeless guy for instance.

Anyway, I'm giving this game a 4.5/10, for all bad puzzles, typos, bad English, and, mainly, the bugs that were missed in the testing of the game, and were never fixed. I bought this game in a bundle and only spent $0.99U.S. for it, but I can't recommend paying full price for this game. Just as I said about Deponia, Chaos on Deponia has a lot of potential, and many good features; the bad outweighs the good however. If you can get the game on sale, and you can tolerate the annoying aspects of this game, there is still fun to be had!

*this review applies mainly to the English version of the game

This game started out great. I loved the artwork, the voice-acting was good, but some of the music didn't seem to fit in certain sections. No problem, I turned the music down to a low level. I was having fun, but immediately ran into issues with the dialogue. Many words that were translated were either incorrect or used incorrectly. There are items in the game, which look like Washers, which the game calls Muffs, for example. There are colored glass windows in the game which they label Mosaic Tables. These are just a couple of examples. There is even the inclusion of words that don't exist in the English language; Bi-Naural.

Here is an example of a sentence used in the game, which is a hint for a puzzle, that makes no sense -- "As long as the mauve muff has to stay attached to the cubical body, there will never be an avial power inverter with a mauve muff." This game is rife with bad grammar, misuse of words, nonsensical sentences. There are many continuity problems in this game as well. The ending of the game, without adding spoilers, doesn't make any sense. The voice acting, mostly, was very good, but, even then, there were issues. When a subtitle read, "Pfft", rather than make the exclamation sound that is intended, the voice-actor tried to pronounce it like a word; "Puh-fff-tuh."

I had issues with some puzzles not triggering an the intended event once I performed a certain action. This caused me to think I was missing something, so I did a lot of backtracking to figure out what I'd missed. After exhausting all my options, I came back and performed the same action a few times, and the event triggered. There were issues with achievements not popping also. I had to go to previous game saves and redo actions to get the achievements involved. There is one achievement called Drogglejug which is buggy, and requires you go to the developers website, download and install a save-game file, in order to complete this achievement. This achievement is not easy to get, and, from what I read, is an inside joke from another game that Daedalic made, which I haven't played. There are also several infuriating psuedo-puzzles in the game, which you'll waste your time solving, only to find that it was nothing but a red herring, designed to extend the game-play. I spent a good amount of time on one of these "puzzles", which had a couple achievements attached to it, only to realize it did nothing to advance the game.

Given the professional reviews of this game(on the store page), I wonder how long these professionals even spent playing the game. There are so many problems with this game, I could never recommend it. It is a shame too, because the game has the atmosphere of a good Point & Click game. I only paid $0.99U.S., and I bought it in a bundle. I'm hoping the sequels to this game aren't as bad. I really wish companies like this would hire a good proofreader/translator, who is fluent in both the orignal language and the language being translated to. Lastly, this game is fairly short; less than 22hours, and that's not all play time; the game would be running while I'm eating, doing other things around the house, etc. I would say I might have gotten 12-15hours of play, and that is being generous. I'm hoping in the future Daedalic will learn from their mistakes, because they do have potential, and the game wasn't all bad; they got many things right, in my opinion.

I almost wanted to give this game less of a score. Many of the issues with Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don't Dry carry over to this game. There are numerous voice over mistakes, translation mistakes, responses to dialogue that are identical no matter what you choose, just like the first game. This game starts off with a forced tutorial for a sequel, and you can't exit out of it. There are tons of long drawn out dialogue trees, and cut scenes that can't be exited.

There are a lot of puzzles which make no sense at all, so you spend lots of time trying everything to find something that works. Near the end of the game you're transported to a new pixelated area, and are forced to repeat each day till you get things right. This game got so annoying that I couldn't wait for it to be over! It's like they purposely took everything bad about oldschool Point & Click games and crammed it into this game. Death sequences, again, cannot be skipped. I'm playing on Linux and the game would randomly crash when changing rooms. I'm not sure if this is an issue on Windows or not, but they did put in a recovery for crashes that lets you continue from the point of the crash. The story for the game was good, and the graphics were of the same style as it's predecessor, and there were some fun parts to the game, but the bad parts heavily outweighed the good parts.

I can't recommend this game to anyone, not even on sale, unless you enjoy buggy, repetitive, annoying, and, sometimes illogical puzzles. I gave the first game a 6/10 due to issues with that game, but this one is way, way worse. If you do decide to buy it, I wouldn't pay the $35U.S. to buy it. In retrospect, I wouldn't pay a dollar for it. I bought it in a bundle that was on sale, so no big loss for me. Oh, they also added an achievement to the game that would require you to replay the whole game to obtain it. I won't be getting that achievement!

This game was fun for the most part, if a little short, but it had a lot of issues with it. Often the translations from German to English leave a native English speaker confused as to what the text/audio is meant to be saying. This happens in a part of the game where the translation to English is used to solve a puzzle. I was stuck here for a while, till I started thinking about other times I saw grammatical errors in the game, and I started to think in terms of someone speaking with bad English and was able to get past the section. There are other times where the voice acting doesn't match up with the subtitles, voice overs are played a scene too early, and a couple instances where there are subtitles, but the voice over is missing entirely.

Another issue with the gameplay is constantly having to travel from Scene 1, getting a clue from a conversation in Scene 2, going back Scene 1, only to find you have to go back to scene 2 to get more information, via dialogue, from the exact same character, and this will get repeated multiple times. This happens several times in the game and is very, very annoying! I didn't care for the, basically, forced hint system, which shows you all the interactive items on the screen, by pressing the Spacebar, and sometimes pops up automatically; there is no way to shut this off. One of the fun aspects of oldschool Point & Click games is that they forced you to use your eyes and evaluate everything in a scene to make sure you didn't miss anything. Besides, when the mouse cursor hovers over an interactive object, you get a text description of what the item is.

The game has multiple-choice dialogue options, but, 9 out of 10 times, regardless of the dialogue you choose for Larry, the character has the same response. So, what's the point of having various options for things to say if the response isn't a reaction to what Larry said? Lastly, when you try, as I always do, to combine an object with another object, or use an object on something, or someone, else in the game, the responses are randomized. If you try the same action again, using the same two items, you will get a different response. This is reused on almost everything in the game and it really detracts from the immersion into the world of Larry Laffer. There are so many missed opportunities to have fun responses to Larry trying to combine things that most wouldn't combine, or using an item on a person, when most would never attempt to do something so bizarre. That's what made the old Larry Laffer, and other Point/Click games, so fun to play. In addition, it gave those games replay value, which this game doesn't have.

With all that said, I would still recommend this game when it's on sale. I bought it for 90% off and feel I got my moneys worth. I wouldn't have felt that way if I had paid the $30U.S. that is the regular Steam price. It took me 21hours to finish the game and that's because I try everything that I think might be good for a laugh. If you're the sort of person who rushes through a game you could probably clear it, easily, in half the time.

This is a very good Mod for Portal!! I played the Linux Native version and there was a game crashing bug, but I found a way to work around it. The story is kind of predictable, and the ending fell flat, but the puzzles make the game well worth playing! The final battle, though, is not just a rehashed battle, as was done in Portal 2. This one is different and more fun, to me at least. Despite the game crashing bug and the disappointing ending I'm still giving this an 8/10, especially as it was free.

This is, overall, a great Point and Click game! If you are an oldschool player and don't like things too easy, definitely avoid Casual Mode, as it is super simplistic and removes the bulk of the puzzles. In addition, Casual Mode, in most parts of the game, is basically just walking from point A to B, picking things up, and putting them where they go. There are virtually no challenges in this mode. Hard mode is easy in many spots, but some of the puzzles are way more challenging and the story is good, for the most part. I wasn't happy with the ending and felt that it fell a bit flat. With that said, this game was really fun up until then! In Hard Mode there are a lot of references to older Point & Click games that you won't get unless you've actually played those games. Anyway, this is a must have for those who enjoy oldschool Point & Click games!

6/10 Due to bugs

This game looks great for the most part and is a lot of fun, but there are way too many bugs in this game, and the save system can cause you to not be able to progress any further. If that happens I guess you have to restart the entire chapter. A few other problems I noticed.....Some objects that look solid have no Collision Mesh, areas where you can get stuck and need to reload a previous save point, AI is either incompetent or is able to shoot you without any Line of Sight(once you've been noticed/heard). Mobs can often walk right through objects, or shoot you through walls. The translation from Russian to English isn't bad early on, but gets worse further into the game, and a lot of the dialogue makes little or no sense. One really irritating thing is not being able to skip many cut-scenes, and some of them are very long. Also, at least with my audio hardware, Dolby Spatial did not work right; If you aren't looking directly at the NPC talking(sometimes more than one talking at a time), the sound falls off quickly. If your back is to an NPC and you don't have Subtitles on, you won't know they said anything. I tried to disable Dolby Spatial Audio, but that made the sound all garbled. I read this only affects some audio setups; I'm using an external Behringer U-Phoria UMC 204HD Audio Interface. With all that said, the story was pretty good, the graphics were mostly great, and the game has a lot of replay value. It's too bad this company didn't put more time into fixing all the major bugs. Anyway, this game isn't worth full price, but I think I only spent about $5U.S., so wait till it's on sale if you decide to get it.

This game is horribly unoptimized. The minimum requirements are pretty high, especially considering this is a RTS game. You'd think this was a FPS game. I had to turn down a lot of settings, as the automatic settings had my GPU up to 99% usage(this is on an AMD 5700xt. I received the game free when I got my Ryzen 7 5700x. I see them fixing bugs and releasing expansion packs, but no optimizations to get GPU usage under control. I'm not a huge fan of RTS games to begin with, but I see that many long time players of the COH games aren't happy with it. Learning the controls and mechanics are a little overwhelming and the in-game Tutorial gives very little direction as to what to do. They could have done a way better job on teaching players how the game is played.
