A fantastic journey.

I recommend this if you are looking for a game to nurse for a long time.

Early Access Review
Cheap game, clearly a knock off of Vampire Survivors with the twist that there are no item limits so balance is all over the place.
Regardless a better map murder experience, but much worse balance. Pacing is OK. Worth the price.

Fun little short game. Well worth the 2,38€.

Not a steep learning curve, though you might want to look some things like weapon evolutions up.

Only lacking a session history, so you can compare previous runs and builds to newer ones.

It's pretty good, best game currently available for country immersion and great modding support.

Mind that DLCs are released that in my opinion are essentially a subscription that gives a good revitalized game every release. Per month cost isn0t that much, but if oyu don't already own everything, I suggest waiting for a sale.

This DLC lets you create a colony of cannibal tree loving hippies. Great expansion.

TL;DR: It's not unenjoyable. Not worth it's lowest price tag though. You can probably get a comparable, equal, or better experience from a F2P game, even if they fix all the bugs. Get the pass first to check if it runs, then if you enjoy it. Then decide if it's worth the price tag.

For reference, I am not a Battlefield fan and did not come in with many expectations.

I actually liked Cyberpunk (wasn't on console, have high end if not top of the line PC) and do not regret purchasing it, mainly because I appreciate the strength of the creative design and overall didn't experience enough severe or frequent bugs to have my experience ruined.
I liked Arma because of it's squad based gameplay and realism.
I like War Thunder because I like the Ground realistic and all it entails. Also because I'm probably at least partially masochistic. Most likely completely.
I like Paradox titles because I don't mind throwing money into a bin, if the bin get appreciably better.

I wanted a nominally squad based game with epic map battles. Breakthrough achieves that to a degree, unfortunately the weapon balance is borked at the time of this review (your choices are snipers, PP-29 or pain, in regards to stock rifles)

I could focus on the bugs (not that I didn't have a number of frustrating nones myself, most annnoyingly TTS being always ON, not being able to respawn and not being able to play breakthroughj because the lobby was bugged), but bugs can eventually get fixed and weapons and vehicles can eventually get rebalanced.

But why I really can't recommend it is because in it's current state and even after the glaring issues are fixed it just delivers an experience that you're not hard pressed to find or surpass in other games at a lower cost, and that in my opinion makes this an absolute disaster for a AAA title.
The only thing it really has going for it is the 128 player limit, but I honestly don't see a personal appeal over the previous titles' 64 player limit. If there was clever map design to go with it, but it just effectively halves the impact of the performance of individual squads.

I honestly regret getting the Gold edition for 90€. A 1 year DLC pass when I doubt they can make the game stnad out, as other people have pointed out how many features from previous games were simply cut.

As usual from this developer, great synergy of sound, aesthetic and engaging gameplay.
