As someone who had zero tabletop RPG experience whatsoever, I'm gonna admit the learning curve for this game is really steep. But with the highly modular difficulty settings, I was able to adjust my experience to where I can get through, and I'm glad I did. This game has a lot of reactivity and excellent writing, and I recommend it.

Excellently made game, with devs that are not only committed to delivering quality content updates, but also respectful to the community. As someone who normally hates high difficulty platformers, I find Dead Cells to be in a great spot in terms of difficulty tuning: fast, tough, but never kills you with things that feel unfair.

At first, I was highly skeptical of this game given what I heard about its open world and gacha-esque "wheelspin" system. For context, I highly disliked almost all open world games I played prior to this game.

However, I eventually warmed up to the game - mostly because of the driving and car customizing aspect (e.g. liveries, car body parts, etc). While I did not specifically come into the game with an expectation of extensive customization features, what *was* present did pleasantly surprise me.

Another thing I'd like to add - one that's a positive for me, but as I understand might be a negative for others - is the lack of strict progression enforcement. This game is self-paced in nature with multiple reward tracks, and the "PI class" (i.e. speed class) system for cars serve as a means to limit car eligibility for certain events instead of being an arbitrary progression marker. Therefore, a D-class car will be grouped with other D-class cars; S2-class cars with other S2-class cars; and so on, and so forth. You *don't* start from the bottom and follow some "win your way to the top" plot. So if you want, you can right away get to driving and racing in hypercars or offroad rally cars.

A good wRPG that's moddable for better replayability. Story's a bit meh, but the gameplay is great.

I came for the custom character feature, and stayed for the surprisingly "welcoming" fighting game it is for a fighting game noob like me. Also the custom character feature.

Good roguelike game. I was skeptical of the card-based combat system but turns out I warmed up to it pretty quickly.

The mods make the game even better, too.

Seriously, this game is awesome. If you like Binding of Isaac-style roguelikes, you'll love this.

A great game, though it unfortunately requires two DLCs (Gods and Kings, Brave New World) to make it exceptionally good and moddable.
