I really enjoyed this demo, the controls are tight and responsive, and the gameplay is fun, overall this demo is worth playing, and replaying to get the fastest time as it seems like this game will be fun to speedrun.

Has Steve so it's the best chapter by default, shame it's no longer buyable meaning the scoops ahoy dream only lives on those who already have committed to the scoops ahoy dream.

If you were expecting Subnautica 2 then this might not be everything you wanted as they're some major differences you should know before picking the game up.
-This game has a heavier leaning onto the story, with a talking main character and other npcs you can interact with throughout the game
-The world is much smaller than the original game but overall more densely packed.
-There's more time spent above ground compared to the few islands in the original Subnautica.
-The only vehicle that returns from the original Subnautica is the prawn suit.

But overall I would say that in my opinion these changes along with the various QoL improvements like just being able to turn the map on and off with the seaglide and not right clicking until you get to the map and light status you want. improve the game or recontextualize many of the gameplay features of the original Subnautica in a meaningful way.

There's also improved base building with a lot of new stuff to use in your bases so if you enjoyed the base building of the original Subnautica you're going to enjoy the upgrades they made here. So overall I would personally say this game is worth picking up if the changes and improvements I listed sounds like something you'd enjoy.
