A twinsticks (though the keyboard works just fine) shooter set in probably the creepiest and easily the least sanitary dungeon crawl there is. Isaac manages to locate the one part of middle-school humor that is appealing and throws in heaps of body horror and disturbing implications. A rock-opera soundtrack guides you through rooms full of the damned (first figuratively, then literally) as you try to... Well, let's just say this game expects you to answer many things yourself.

The gameplay itself is challenging, frustrating, and infuriating. But if you like that boy are you in for a treat. Every fearful second of trying to get those spiders off of you is paid back when you start shooting bombs from your eyes or summon nicer spiders to clean the room for you.

While the action is fast, exploring cleared rooms can be a bit of a chore. But I guess that's why it's not called a dungeon bus ride. A must-have among rouge-like-like-etc
