Buncha spiteful whiners, the lot of you negative reviewers. It's a Paradox grand strategy. You know how this works and you know it well. No, it's not perfect right now, but it's nowhere near as bad as you guys make it out to be. Yet you continue to leave negative reviews that affect future releases and put off new prospective players. If any grand strategy series deserved a sequel, it was Victoria, in the arguably coolest and most important period of world history, and now we've got it. Yet here you are, knowing how this process works, finally seeing a sequel, and immediately complaining about it. Stellaris and EUIV have been radically transformed since the state of their release. You know well that they're capable of doing it with this one too, as player feedback was the driving force behind the improvement of those games into verified classics.

What they've done with the Victoria franchise here is put out a game that's accessible enough for new players to get in on the ground floor with. Don't kill it before it starts. This world of grand strategy games is not an easy one to get into, yet here they are, taking something we love and making more of it, on a level that new players can access. I understand many of you are passionate about the genre but there's no sense in dogging it this hard and amplifying the negatives so loud. Introduce your gripes to their forums instead, where you already know they regularly communicate with the passionate veteran fanbase, and don't put off new players. That's how we get another Imperator Rome. It's already a niche genre as it stands, don't squander the chance to breathe more life into it.

If you're reading this and you would be interested in a historical grand strategy game (and you're not a spiteful blowhard), I recommend that you buy this game and enjoy a new historical grand strategy game in a market with not alot of new historical grand strategy games, and enjoy the regular community-advised updates they roll out with to improve it over time just like they do with all their other grand strategy games. If you're brand new and willing to dive in, here's a good spot to take on that learning curve. It's not as bad as they say.

This is early access? Sure fooled me. The game looks, plays and feels like it's complete. I had no clue how much was planned until I looked at the roadmap. This game is already a home run in it's current state and well worth a purchase as it's going to become even better. It's also worth mentioning that this dev team actually made both an English and Chinese version of an original song performed by characters in the game. Big shout out to the awesome Chinese language voice actor cast. Pathea is really going the distance here.

A really good mech combat experience that can stand in it's own class (in 2022 at the time of this review) with a rewarding gameplay loop and tons of customization. Truly awesome, even moreso if you're into Battletech (this game got me deep into it). Multiplied by a million and made truly great by the fantastic and very passionate modding community always working to create more awesome stuff and implement more innovative features. Basically now I just dream about large robots fighting every night.

As far as milking the zombie survival craze of the the mid-00's, Undead Labs has knocked it out of the park and STILL continues to support SOD2 with huge, meaningful updates. That's what you call a labor of love. The gameplay loop of SOD2 is exactly what you'd expect. You're managing the morale of your survivors, your supplies and ammunition, the integrity of your melee weapons, the security of your base. When survivors die, they're gone forever, making the gameplay a very satisfying implementation of risk vs. reward. It's immersive and addictive.

Any gripes I have with SOD2 are nitpicks and not worthy of pointing out as the good far outweighs the bad.

This series is a masterpiece. You must play it.

I am willing to enter real life hand-to-hand combat with anyone who doesn't love everything about this series

This game is dead. Don't pay full price for it. As of this review I think I've got 9 hours. The grand majority of it has just been sitting and waiting for a match to start. Most of the time I'm just put into an empty lobby by myself and wait forever for nobody to come. Sometimes I'll get lucky and get put into a lobby with a handful of players, but the match will never start because there won't be enough players. Lots of times the lobby hovers around the required amount of players but most get fed up and leave. It's worthless.

I guess you can look at the menus and listen to the music if you want.

Ubisoft and Uplay have made this game unplayable. Some kind of account error preventing the game from being played, and I can't contact Ubisoft support (the only option) because the page never loads for me. I am DONE paying money for all Ubisoft games from here on out and I WILL be pirating this since I rightfully purchased this game and the publisher won't let me play it. Ubisoft is TRASH and should not be supported.

This series is a masterpiece in every way. I'll die for it and everyone who made it. There's nothing I can write here that other positive reviews haven't already covered, so go ahead and read them too. I can only hope that as much of the Yakuza series as possible gets a Steam release.
