This is the 3rd game in the franchise and while there have been some improvements they still have failed to implement a decent save system. We are currently at stage 7 which is comprised of at least 3 puzzles, with the first 2 taking 5 to 10 minutes to complete each, however when you complete either of them, if the game crashes (which it has 3 times now) after you've completed the first 2 sections? Tough luck. Puzzles are rewarding when you figure them out, and given their design even if you already know how to solve them in theory it still takes trial and error to get it right, so if the game crashes after finishing 2 puzzles, basically ♥♥♥♥ you lets waste another 20 minutes of your time to get back to where you were and hope it doesnt' happen again. We endured this twice, and on the third attempt while solving the 3rd puzzle the games servers disconnected and softlocked our progress as I was sending the cart to my partner who's client never got it when it reconnected, meaning if we want to attempt to progress we would have now wasted an hour of our time. We are playing in the same house on the same LAN, it makes no sense to need stable serverside connections for this, and even without that, why can we not just have a save file we can access like any other game developed in the last 20 years? It's infuriating.

Hi there, we're sorry to hear you keep having issues with the save games / connection of our games. This shouldn't be the case and it's hard for us to figure out how or why this is happening to you. It sounds like a network issue but it's hard to say for certain. Puzzles should save automatically after completion. If this helps, you can manually enable your checkpoints so you can bypass puzzles you've already played. To do this, you will need to go to the config file in a hidden folder on your PC:

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Total Mayhem Games\We Were Here Together\Data\Configs

Change ‘False' into ‘True' in: <UnlockAllCheckpoints>False</UnlockAllCheckpoints>
