This game might contain my favorite RPG story of all time. The self contained, linear nature of the game really pays dividends, creating a more focused and coherent narrative imo than in The Witcher III (which I also love but has its shortcomings). The visuals are breathtaking-each contained area feels alive and unique. Flotsam really feels like its own unique village with its own character, and the forest around flotsam is perhaps the most stunning and alive area I've ever encountered in a video game.

The depth and and complexity of the main plot is also second to none. Everyone is shades of grey in a way that is truly well done-even the more peripheral characters, like Loredo and Stennis, have depth and character to them. Nobody in this game feels 2 dimensional, not even the Nilfgaardian Ambassador Shilard. And of course there's Letho of Gulet, perhaps the best "villain" I've ever encountered. It all just fits so perfectly together. This game is a true masterpiece, and I cannot recommend it enough.
