A game pretty much similar to Fallout 3, except for 2 things: better writing and more bugs (as we've come to expect from Obsidian).

If you liked Fallout 3, you'll like this one even more.

If you have any sort of nostalgia for the 80's, do yourself a favor and get this game.
You will cherish it by playing only 10 minutes.

80s out 80s.

If you loved the first Red Faction, I can't recommend this game.
There's nothing here that reminds me of the first game, starting with this game being set on Earth. If anything, this plays like an Unreal Tournament with a story to match, which isn't bad per se, but I expected a continuation of the previous game.

Just skip this one.

If you're into old action games like Half-Life, this is one the greats of the era.

An extremely fun game where you can wield 4 weapons and unleash an array of powers upon your unfortunate enemies.
The story isn't much, but trust me, you won't care.
This has 4 co-op multiplayer, L4D style, which includes a campaign and a few loose missions. (I didn't have network issues in this.
If you find this game in a sale, go for it.

P.S.: This is definitely not a game for the squeamish.

How to start this recommendation? I know. A comparison.
If you've ever played Ico, imagine that, but this time controlling both characters.

It's is a simple, short, yet great game that knows how to pull on our heartstrings.
This is one of those games you can use as an example when someone says games can't be art.

Buy it, play it, you won't be disappointed.

A fantastic 2D stealth platformer from the team responsible for the Shank franchise.
Superb gameplay allied with visuals and sound that immerse the player in the game world, make this a game that shouln't be missed.
The story is superficial, but strangely entincing.

An obvious recommend, for me.

This is an old-school FPS with a very nice graphics engine, like Serious Sam or Painkiller.
The story is very paper-thin with lowsy dialogues and that's fine, really, because the game's focus is the combat.
Speaking of combat, this game is very punishing. If you're a casual player, I recommend playing this on Easy.
The game doesn't last long (around 6 hours, DLC included) and it's pretty cheap.

If you just want to shoot at stuff, but also being challenged while at it, give it a try.

After Painkiller, People Can Fly make another fun FPS game with great mechanics, beautiful visuals (Unreal engine) and a trashy story.

This is a game that rewards players for being inventive with their kills. Some of which you don't even have to work hard for, as they just come naturally. I don't know what that says about us (me), but it's the perfect medicine for stress... well, until you reach the later levels.

This was a love/hate game for me.

First, what I hated. Constant enemy respawns, enemies with super-human vision, no fast way to travel (a few bus stops and that's it), a weak story and no memorable characters (well, except for Frank; who doesn't like some Irish cockiness).

Last, what I loved. The randomness of it all. The game, with all its quirkness, puts the player in the most strangest and laughable situations like plans backfiring with grenades rolling down a hill. It creates some of the most spectacular Michael Bay action scenes without any scripting.

I've got to go with a recommend. Forget about the story (it goes nowhere) and just enjoy the game world.
