Pros:
- Cute aesthetic, art style is charming.
- Pretty easy and chill to play

Cons
- It's too easy on the default difficulty, so much so you can AFK with no reprecussions. Lacks any challenge.
- Pacing of the entire game feels off. There is so much waiting around. Building new buildings takes forever because of the walk-speed of builders carrying materials. All the production pipelines take forever to resolve a single-cycle of goods. I played the entire game through on triple-speed and even then I had nothing to do for a lot of it.
- Resource production needs to be tuned, some things are way too slow/hard to produce for how many of them you need. I could never make enough coal for heating as an example no matter how many woodcutters/coal-making production I built.
- Because there is no threat, and no way to die it seems, you end up just AFK and floating in gold till it becomes a non-issue. Making a significant part of the economy redundant.
- Relationships with other kingdoms stupidly easy.
- I couldn't even get enough resources to run the tower let alone, afford to purchase military units. 7 hours into the game, still can't afford any military due to resource shortage, it shouldn't be this hard for a newbie to build a swordsmen. If I'm missing something then, there is a problem with game design that it didn't make the experience more streamlined.
- Game feels unfinished in many ways

Aside from pacing which needs addressing via balancing. The others could be 'fixed' by playing on a higher difficulty, but I cringe to think how much slower the experience would be with the pacing the way it is. The default difficulty needs be drastically shifted as right now 'Normal' feels almost like 'Very Easy'.

I'd give it a 5/10. "Try it if it's free, but I wouldn't pay money for it".

If you like XCOM you'll probably like this.

I think this game is really fun, has all the strategic elements from both an overworld map perspective and hybrid real-time/turn-based smaller map battles. Really interesting combo and well executed.

My only criticisms are that they opted to try keeping the UI and info simplified but in doing so they have cut out a lot of the 'numbers' in the game. For Min-Maxers like me, it's frustrating at times to not see the exact % effect different weapons/perks/actions have in-game.

2nd issue is the pacing in the game feels very off after the mid-game. Game snowballs to an easy win very quickly, becomes far too easy, starts to get repetitive real fast.

I'd still give the game a 7.5/10 worth playing.

A masterpiece. I'm having way too much fun. Average users report 20 hours to do Act 1, I'm halfway through Act 1 and already have 35 hours logged of immersive gameplay. Best money I've spent in ages.

This is everything I imagined DnD as a video game would be like and more. Well done Larian Studios.

This has to be the best 'short' game to play before you need to do something else. Easy to learn. Ridiculous skill ceiling.

Great free to play game. Visuals are great and lots of world exploration.

The highlight of this game is definitely the mid-late game 4-player dungeons. Fantastic boss design that is fun and interactive and quite challenging!

Definitely have to point out a negative in the levelling experience. The game is very very easy, such that it's counter intuitive to group up to level as it slows you down. It makes the levelling experience feel very very lonely as you work through the game until you hit level 50. It becomes fun after level 50.

I liked the concept and theme. Reminds me of The Sims and Moving Out.

However, there was something missing from this game that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Maybe it was the art-style that I didn't like or perhaps it was that the game play felt a bit flat. It has potential but just didn't quite hook me in enough to play more than an hour into the tutorial.

This survival city-simulation is done really well. The first few times you play through this you really feel it, it's hard, your people are starving, they hate you. Morale and hope are all over the place and then children start dying.

It really nails the atmosphere and the gameplay backs it up perfectly. This was definitely one of the top 10 games I played in 2020.

As of current, there are many bugs in this game, some more game breaking than others and can potentially lead to locking up your campaign. Some smaller issues can be fixed by saving and reloading, others can we worked around with console commands.

However, if you are a fan of the original XCOM games then this game is still incredibly worth it considering the price point.

Disco Elysium to me played like a visual novel with components of RPG scattered throughout. The game is text heavy and not heavily 'action' packed in the traditional sense. So if you are looking for something fast paced then this isn't it. I guess I went into this one hoping for a bit more RPG and character (stat/item) building but instead most of the character building is through more of the personality and story telling side. It's nice and different from other games I had played and kept me for a good 57 hours till completion but I it's not totally up my alley.

If you like story games and don't mind reading, it's actually a decent game. VERDICT 7/10.
