Early Access Review
TL;DR - Despite pre-alpha status, this is a really fun extraction shooter game that provides a cool PvE experience with Co-op playability. Limited content at the moment, but has AMAZING potential and the devs seem very dedicated in making this work. If you're looking for a Tarkov-esque PvE with Co-op that doesn't run like total garbage, then this is worth a look!

Details:
It's hard to not compare this game to Tarkov since they are extremely similar. Where the main difference is, at least for me, despite being very early Early Access, the game runs 1000 times better than Tarkov ever will.

That being said, please keep in mind that this is very EA in terms of content. There's only 1 map (small area that only takes you a few mins to go from end-to-end) and 2 mission types (collect and place intel, place bugs). The devs noted that more content will be added throughout 2024 in terms of extending the map, another new map, and more mission types. You can also do a raid without having any mission selected, just to go on loot runs or test out your weapons. You have a hideout with a shooting range as well.

PvE is pretty decent, with the AI not behaving like brain-dead scavs. They actually take cover and try to flank you while attacking. There are difficulty options for the AI, as well as a difficulty customization option with sliders to configure the AI how you see fit in terms of difficulty. Co-op is a big bonus for this game, since it's fun and pretty smooth with no issues found when I played with my friends.

Gunplay is amazing! It feels so good to shoot these weapons. It also has weapon modding and customization, also very similar to Tarkov. So far there are only a few weapons implemented in the game, with the main primary weapons being either an AK or an M4. However, there are also shotguns, SCAR, Sig Sauer among others but the AK and M4 are the most common you'll find in the map and are easier to access in the trader. The devs also noted that more weapons are planned for 2024. You can also equip secondary weapons (e.g. MP5), and sidearms (e.g. Glock).

There's also a trader system, to which you can sell and buy items & weapons from. The market is driven by the 3 factions in the game, who sell weapons & items based on their ideology/lore (e.g. UICS is NATO focused, while the others are Warsaw Pact focused). There is a faction reputation tier system that unlocks more items for purchase the higher your reputation is with said factions. You can improve faction reputation by doing missions for them. BEWARE: If you gain rep with one faction, you lose it for others they are rivals with.

There is some indicative of lore in the game, which the devs plan on expanding in future updates.

The devs are open to people making mods for the game. While no Steam Workshop is planned, there are mods popping up on the game's Nexus mod page. No confirmation on SDK release yet by the devs.

In conclusion, while very EA and bare-bones, I have played 10 hours and plan to sink in more. I will be looking forward to seeing the new updates, and hoping that this game will turn into the pinnacle of PvE extraction shooters!

This game is definitely a labor of love. Developed by ONE guy, who wanted to share his take of what a post apocalyptic Zone would be like, taking the concept and ideas of STALKER. If you're a fan of the Stalker series, then you really need to play this game. A unique take on yet another post apocalyptic scenario, but this time in the area of Tunguska, where the famous 1908 event happened. This game is highly influenced by the Stalker series, lots of easter eggs and discoveries that will have you constantly remembering that beloved series.

Other than the Stalker series, the gameplay takes elements from the old RPG games like Fallout 1&2, as well as Atom RPG and gives it a nice twist, with real-time combat... not turn-based. The game has a lot of dialogue and lore, in which you're able to talk and trade with pretty much any NPC. Some NPCs give out side quests, as well as other goodies like stash locations.

The overall feel makes it seem like, despite it being in a post apocalyptic setting, the environment is alive. I easily got immersed in this game, not an easy feat for a top-down game. There's a decent variety of weapons and other items in the game, and I believe it is pretty well paced and balanced. The combat and enemy AI take a bit to get used to if you get swarmed by NPCs but it's very fun nonetheless. Some advice, TAKE COMBAT SLOWLY AND METHODICALLY. This is not Diablo or CoD :P

I do have to say that this game has some flaws, mostly some gameplay bugs as well as grammar issues in the dialogues but nothing game-breaking at all. The dev is VERY active and receives feedback very well from everyone. Join the discord for updates and other things.

I cannot give enough praise to this game and developer. Well worth the original price! Go ahead Ghoul Hunters, and pick this gem up! And... good hunting :)

Blood, STALKER, System Shock 2, Hunt Showdown all rolled into one, and you get Blood West. The environment is amazing, and the gameplay is pretty sweet. Of course it's early access and there are things to polish (e.g. enemy pathfinding when you're on a different plain than them, etc.) but my this has some amazing potential, and it's a good time as it is now. Have fun being Caleb in the wild west!

One of the best Terminator games I have ever played since Skynet 23 years ago. Highly recommended for true die hard fans of the first two Terminator movies, as this takes a LOT of source material from it, along with awesome easter eggs. Controls are kinda clunky but you get used to them and the graphics are kinda dated but the game captures the atmosphere of those future scenes from the movies perfectly. Recommended for Terminator fans, however, if you're not a big Terminator fan, then I would wait for a big sale.

EDITED: The original devs handed off the game to another studio, that completely screwed up the game. They got it back, with the promise of remaking it from the ground up, but no news for the last year... nothing to show... game is in crap state with no signs of getting better. Stay away from this abandoned game. What a shame....

OLD REVIEW PRE-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥: Mix the Mount & Blade series with modern warfare, city and army management, and real time strategy mechanics, and you will have this game.

You start out with very few assets and squads, no towns or garrisons, and almost no money. Nevertheless, use what you have to build your empire by making alliances, betraying others, training and supplying your armies, and taking over everyone! You also have different forms of playing the game. If you love FPS more than strategy, you can rely more on your shooting skills than the strength of your army. If you love the strategy aspect more than your shooting skills, you can play out an entire battle without firing your weapon.

It's amazing that such a small dev team can accomplish this much. They really love their product and are updating it constantly. It is early access, yes there are bugs, but the game is VERY playable and EXTREMELY enjoyable.

Seriously, take advantage of Steam's 2 hour policy and give this game a go! I guarantee you will not regret it ;)

Atlas Rises 1.3 update:

They did it...they finally did it... they fixed the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game! This is a huge overhaul to the game, which adds almost everything they promised from the get-go. The game is a lot more polished (better gfx, better optimization), has a lot more story, economy, trading, combat, exploring. This is very close to the game that we all wanted, and as the trailer says "Much more will come". NMS now reminds me of an arcady version of Elite Dangerous, which is awesome. If you haven't gotten the game yet, or have refunded it a year ago... I recommend getting it now!

Also, despite the horrible launch and the terrible PR last year, I have to tip my cap to the devs for sticking with this and making it a mission to deliver the game they promised. Nine times out of ten, the devs would've just taken the money and ran, but HG are keeping their promise... After seeing this update, it seems like it was Sony's fault all along for not letting HG finish the game..

Pathfinder 1.2 update:

You know if the reviews went from "Overwhelmingly Negative" to "Mostly Negative" for this game, you know Hello Games are doing something right!

Nah in all seriousness, if they keep making these updates and listening to the community, they will definitely turn this around! Little by little they are winning back the people who have pre-ordered the game.

I will update this "review" after every update.

The franchise is back from the dead thanks to RE7. If you are an old-school fan of RE from when it was actually scary, then you will absolutely love this!! This kept on taking me back to the original RE with hard to kill enemies, puzzles, back-tracking, and that absolute sense of dread in every step you take. I cannot wait for RE8 and I hope CAPCOM continues what they started with this game!

Also, this game has a decent replay value since you can unlock a bunch of things for future playthroughs...things that will come in handy for when you want to play Madhouse (TOTALLY INSANE).

9.5/10 - Would get welcomed to the family again, and again, and again....

Star Citizen runs better than this game. No wonder they capped it at 30 FPS before... I can't even get above 50 FPS with 980Tis in SLI. This is a joke.. Even No Man's Sky ran better than this a couple of days after launch.

Until they actually optimize it, not worth buying.
