For this review I am just going to compare directly to Darktide, the other 40k co-op game.

Points for SM2:
Campaign. Darktide doesn't have a campaign, so easy win for SM2. I do with the campaign missions were more replayable like the operations though.
Variety. With two distinct factions and maps across multiple unique worlds there is just more variety from map to map. Darktide maps on the other hand all kinda blend together and all play basically the same.
Cinematic feel. This one is more of a stylistic choice rather than a clear win. SM2 makes you feel like more of a badass while fighting for much larger and epic objectives. Darktide is just smaller scale, although that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
PvP. I have never played the PvP in SM2 and I have no desire to, but it is there. Darktide is purely co-op, so if you want PvP you won't find it there.

Points for Darktide:
Combat. Darktide just has the best combat around. SM2 in comparison feels a bit "consolified", just a bit dumbed down. Darktide combat is more immersive and in-depth. Ultimately a more satisfying experience.
Enemy design. Many enemies in SM2 just tend to be annoying to fight, particularly Chaos. Darktide enemies are challenging, but not unfair or annoying.
Voice acting and banter. Nothing wrong with the voice acting in SM2, but the banter is a bit lacking. There are a few good lines, but it is always the same thing at the same point every time you play a map. Darktide has fantastic voice acting and just heaps of original banter.
Music. Again, nothing wrong with the SM2 OST. Darktide though just has an amazing soundtrack.
Price. When I bought SM2 on sale I paid as much as Darktide's full price. Considering how much I have gotten out of each, Darktide easily wins in value.

Ultimately when it comes down to it, if I want to kill some heretics I go for Darktide. I have close to 40 hours in SM2 and I feel pretty much done with it. It was great to play with friends and while I still have stuff to level, ultimately I just don't enjoy playing it as much as Darktide. I have close to 10 times as many hours in Darktide and it is still a blast to play.

Been a couple decades since I have played an AC game and with all the attention AC6 was getting I was looking forward to getting back into it.

What a disappointment. Not bad, just mediocre. Combat is more flashy than actually fun. Movement is good, but the weapons aren't satisfying to use. Haven't found any of the bosses to be enjoyable, just tedious damage sponges.

What is the point of health if 95% of the hazards are insta-kill? Some of these puzzles are incredibly frustrating when one slip-up means you have to restart the whole room.

It's... not great. Playable, but gets old quickly and difficulty is often just BS.

Just not a very good game on any level. It isn't terrible and is generally playable, but lots of jank and no real redeeming qualities. Combat is rather bad, AI is bad, inventory is just weird. Exploring really sucks until you find the map, which is really just a blank sheet of paper that gets filled out as you explore. Got bored of it when it turned into just go wander about randomly and hope you stumble across whatever tool you need to unblock your progression.

I really love parts of this game, but ultimately I can't recommend it to anyone but masochists. The world is amazing and fun to explore, but the difficulty spikes are just abysmal. Most of the game is fine, but then some of the bosses are just 100x more difficult that anything before them.

The combat is just kind of bad. It is basically the same as the Dark Souls games, which I was fine with 10 years ago, but now it is just getting stale and the flaws even more glaring. After Bloodborne and Sekiro evolving things a bit, Elden Ring just feels like a step backwards. Most of the times I die I don't feel like I messed up but instead it was the camera being terrible or the lock on system failing. There are just so many other games doing things better, but this game just feels stuck in the past.

I really wanted to enjoy this game, but that is not what it wanted.

One of my favorite games of all time, an experience you won't find anywhere else.

While the game was unfinished at release, it was still very fun. Since then it has only gotten better as systems were actually finished.

This game has the best combat of just about any game I have played. Weapons are impactful and sound design is amazing, it is just a great time hacking heretics to bits.

With the latest update they finally fixed the biggest thing people complained about and the game is pretty great in all aspects.

I thought I would pass some time with Deathwing while waiting for Darktide to update, but this only wanted to make me play Darktide more. This game just feels clunky, from the movement to the UI. Weapons don't have any impact and combat just lacks intensity. Poor sound design and a total lack of music doesn't help anything.

Good fun for awhile, but terrible online features, bad hitboxes, and just general grindiness make me sick of the game before I actually get through all of it.
