Early Access Review
I got this game really early after i saw a streamer play it. Loved it immediatly. Fun gameplay. Love the different skill trees for the characters. The rougelike mode is also very enjoyable. But the most important thing for me about this game is the passion and constant updates the developers provide. this truly is a work of love. amazing job devs. looking forward for the next upate and hopefully soon the full release

Intro
After about 60h I finished my first playthrough and despite all those negativ reviews this game gets i honestly really enjoyed it.
I dont understand most people complaining. Like do you even inform yourself about the general idea and gameplay of a game?
It was known that there will be only 1 save before the game lunched so whats the point here? Dont buy it if you dont like the idea.
Same goes for the "microtransactions". Sure the game doesnt need them and i prefered the game not to have them. But you also get all the stuff for free ingame by playing which most people dont get it seems.

So with this out of the way lets get to my actual review of the game.

Overall
Like I said in the Intro i really enjoyed the game. Overall its a good RPG. It has it flaws sure but its not as bad as people make it.
I would rate the game overall with a 8/10. (and yes for those doing maths here its more than the average of the scores I give the game in different sections ;P )

Story
In my opinion the story is the weakest point of the game. It has a story but it doesnt feel engaging enough.
Without going to describe any part of the story. Like 3/4 into the story I already forgot what happend and why I am supposed to do stuff. And a story which doesnt make you want to learn more about it and the world of the story isnt good for any kind of game.
So i will go with a 5/10, since it still has a story but it isnt build up and extended on enough.

Gameplay
The gameplay of it is pretty good in my point of view. Is it climbing up a cyclop and hitting it in the eye, is it just flinging goblins away or flying on the back of a griffon to its hort. Its just fun.
Your pawns is one of the points why i reduced the score here. Overall the AI of the pawns is comparablly good. But sometimes the get stuck or just run to random places or give you element buffs despite the fact the element is weak against the enemy.
The other negativ point is the camera in narrow places or when the enemy jumps on you. Its just not great in thoses scenarios.
I would give 8/10 here.

World
Exploring the world and finding stuff in every corner just reminded me of good ol´ Gothic 1 and Gothic 2 times.
For those who know Gothic can relate i think. More games especially rpg should do this. You want to explore the world because there is something to find in every corner. Yes the rewards are more on the disappointing side most of the time but I still want to continue exploring because you actually get something when exploring.

The areas you venture to are quit astonishing in my opinion and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ going through this world at day and night is something. Its really enjoyable. But I did expect the world to be bigger. Tho I still give 10/10 here.

Performance & Crashes
So this a quite interessing topic. I really wanted to play this game but with the setup I had i would not have been able to play this game. My old pc would have just died. Now i have decent setup for gaming but not on the highest end. I was running the game on high settings in every point. While not in cities I had around 140 to 100 fps depending on what was going on. In fights it was on the lower end here. In cities it dropped to 100 to 60 fps. So its not good. But compared to other people I looked what my overall effectiv fps were and reduced some settings capped my fps to 80 and hey look the performance issues are hardly noticable. I dont need everything maxed out and on highest fps to enjoy a game. Depending on the pace of a game you dont even notice the change when putting some settings lower. What is important is to have stable fps. The range from 140 to 60 fps made it not enjoyable. In the endgame world I even capped it to 60 just to not have jumps in the fps. Yes its worse there.
And compared to Baldurs Gate 3 Act 3 at release this game is still better. I was not able to play Act 3 in Baldurs Gate 3 at all I had 30 to 15 fps on lowest setting there with a setup that was still in the recommanded range while in all other areas I was running on stable 60. People didnt care there about performance like they do in this game.
For crashes I didnt have a single crash in the almost 60h of playing.
I would gave a 7/10 here.

Quests & NPC´s
I tried to do all quests I find. Yes it can be hard to find quests. But the way it is done make the world more engaging. Not having something to tell you "Hey I have a quest for you" forces you to interact with the NPCs which makes the world more alive. Yeah for the most part NPCs dont have quests or useful information but I wanted to interact with them to find quests or get information and thats what should happen. When i dont have to interact with the npcs in a village they can just also not exist at all.
The major drawback I see here is the impact of the quest. Even tho they do have some impact on the world it does feel like they have no impact. So I only need the quest for the ultimate abiliities of a vacation. The rest is not useful.
So i would give it 7/10 here.

Other Stuff
There are some points I did not include in the rating.
One thing is the difficulty. Yes the game is very easy in my opinion. You just outscale the monsters way to fast. But if I want it to be hard I just dont use pawns at all. And this difficulty lets you play what you want and dont need any optimized build. Which is great for casual players.
Another thing people complained about is that you only can equip 4 Skills. I dont see this a bad point. Its just controller optimizied. And 4 skills is more than enough to play the game.
I also did not include the microtransactions. because the most things you just can get ingame and you dont need the microtransaction at any point in the game. Like I said in the Intro I dont like them and would have prefered not to have them but well.
Monster variaty. I do think for the size of the world the amount of different monsters is enough. There are games with bigger worlds and less variaty.
Price. Most people dont understand the costs behind software development. Especially game development. I think 65€ is a fair price nowadays for such a game.
Character Creator. The character creation is one of the best things of the game and since it was for free probably highly increased the amount of people getting it. You can do so much with it. Its better than BG3 one. But also Oblivion had a character creator this big.
