I'm only recommending this due to the price.
The game has some good scary elements going for it which is nice but the one thing that bothered me most is that when / if you die, nothing bad comes of it. The story continues exactly at that point of death. If you take your time to look for everything and beat the game + go back to get the missing items / endings, then you can pull 2-5 hrs out of this game. If you just follow the story and nothing else, this game could be beaten in 1 or less hours.
I can't say exactly anything bad about it other then the menu kind of sucking.
The game is a little boring with a very short story that is very shallow.

I'm glad it was only $8 and would say it would be worth it to some people if you enjoy horror games, but questionable when you can get 100's of hrs out of other games for the same price or less.

A lot has been said in the reviews already but I'll add my opinion anyways.
The game has a great art style and story, the game also has full voice acting for any character you talk to.
The game is kind of hard right from the start and will feel punishing until you get the hang of things.
The combat is great, it's a mix of a souls like and it's own play style that adds a good amount of ways to go about how you will handle situations ether with stealth, parry, bombs, throwables, and more. The game has a big catalog of weapons and armor to unlock, loot, and be rewarded with.
Upgrading armor and weapons can be a dice roll if you want to re roll stats to make the weapon better or take the chance for it to become worse, this doesn't change the regular upgrade system a typical game would have as these are two different changes to the weapon or armor that can be made.

While right now the game isn't very long "maybe 12-18 hours of story completion" you can still find a lot of extra hours unlocking everything, looking around finding new hidden spots you never found before, and making new characters to mess around with new builds.

A big issue with the game that people complain about is the time locks when upgrading a building, I agree with this I just think with the way they want to go about things with the game is they don't want people to speed run the game and be done or at the endgame content in record time. My idea would be to just double the mats you need to upgrade said building and this would take more time farming for said upgrade but it would unlock right away.
To continue with some of the bigger issues right now is that we have no respecing characters so you will have to prepare to be locked into a build or wrongly placing your stat points. making a new character to try out another new build is all you can do currently. Lastly the fps consistency in the game can have big drops in some areas before spiking back up quickly. I can't say what the typical persons fps would be since I have a 4090 but I can hit above 144fps and the quick dips that happen drop me down to 90 fps. All 3 of these issues have been heard by the devs and they will have changes / fixes for these in the future.

As a EA game it has a lot of great things going for it, and I could sit here picking at the small negatives I've found but over all it's a fun game. The road map shows multiplayer coming, end game content, continued story / maps, and many more weapons and armor.

Since this is on sale atm I'd recommend getting it, but at this semi lower price point I still understand if you waited till they added respecing, multiplayer, and endgame content.

The game is great and worth playing.
Outside of performance issues and some buggy NPC issues all of it is amazing.
It's the old game but better in most every way. Micro transactions suck and in a single player game it sucks most, but none of that takes away from the game as everything is just in the game. It really comes down to just enjoy the game.
It's always hard to take such a great first game and make the 2nd game even better. It' really has a great and better pawn system. The enemies and combat is better as well. The impact on this game verse the first game doesn't fell as weighty as the first game, however.
The game world is so much bigger and have so much more to do. I hope they add more to the game but who knows at this point. If they can optimize the bag lag in high NPC areas then the game would be worth it for most people.
I don't have much to say that's bad about the game. I think everyone needs to go into this game with the idea of this game with the elements of the first game but with totally new systems and story. I recommend replaying the first game as well. both are super fun and worth the time to play.

Alost don't forget to beef up your pawn so that they are useful to other players.

Game servers have you waiting 30-50 mins to join into the game.
Frame rate is all over the place and the game is bland and boring.
I gave it a shot and it's just not ready.

It's a fun game for adults and kids. I'd recommend it in general to anyone as a good casual game to play, even more so at this price now.

My played hrs are not correct.

This is the most played game on my steam account, but it's not a real representation of my time with the game. I played maybe 10-20 hrs of this game myself, and my son played about 30-40 hrs his self. I has a week where family visited and my nephews played this game every day which added another 60 hrs (probably). The real kicker here is that we left the game running on accident in between sessions while the screen turned off and pc ran quiet (backup pc). After they left and me not paying attention, it was about about a week or so later I went to check the pc to do something on it and saw the game was still in the menu screen running. I turned it off and saw that I played over 100hrs a week and also had 700+ hrs in total.

I can't wait for one of my played games to pass it up lol.
