had potential at launch, but devs appear to be in the wrong head space releasing dlc left and right when the base game isn't nowhere close worth 35 euros, bought because it looked cool, disappointed.
I ain't no money printing machine.

This game is a gem.
The combat is refreshing with a new take on the turn-based RPG genre, it is simple in actions you can do, but requiring good strategy of character types-held items-character positions.
The art style is diverse and vibrant, characters are unique, the environment really sets the tone for whatever encounter you are having.
The music is insanely well done with an extreme amount of tracks that are unique per encounter. With some being absolute bops straight off the bat.
The story is quite confusing at first but as you progress it becomes clearer until it all clicks(or you just read some lore on its wiki :D.
Honestly, I wish this game would have more presence, because imo this kind of innovation is exactly what we need more of, I've been having a blast.
10/10 great experience.

I've gotten to a point in life where advancing or even keeping my rank would be hard without dedicating at least half my free time everyday. I'm 19 at the time of writing this review and have dedicated 3k+ hours hitting my highest rank of low GC1 2s and almost GC1 3s. I'm a very competitive player and seeing my rank stay the same even though I was putting hours into improvement instead of focusing on other overall move beneficial activities hurt a lot. Considering my well-being I'm making a logical decision of dropping Rocket League. It was fun while it lasted.

I've spent so much damn time on this game that not playing it for an extended period of time is giving me withdrawal symptoms. The other day I got to play a match of rocket league in my dreams after seeing my roommate play it for a while. I think it spoke volumes that even in my dreams (which were extremely realistic) I had a teammate call me out quick-chatting "Close-One!" after I whiffed saving a goal.
Rocket League is a great game. Probably the greatest game I'll ever play. The immersive controls eventually lead to feeling like you are the car you control. But the immersion is what ruined it for me. It is fine to play a game. It is not fine when you wake up to play rocket league, eat fast to go back to playing rocket league, sleep to be better at rocket league, rocket league not leaving your mind when going outside, when traveling, when walking your dog. I've never been addicted to any drugs, I never smoked nor have I been drunk. But if I ever was addicted I imagine it would be somewhat like my experience with rocket league.

This is hopefully the last time I open this games steam page. My time spent there was not wasted but it is time for me to move on.

Edit: after changing my worldview to be less gaming focused, it's an alright game I guess.
