While the sound design and graphics are bare bones, this game is obviously meant to shine at the gameplay. This platformer is unique, mechanically challenging, and still fair. I ran through it twice already and the only issue I have is how random the enemies can feel. Otherwise, swinging yourself around and around through a level is a blast.

☐ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugs

The game itself has amazing visuals and audio. The difficulty is really well handled. The first time I played this game (on Xbox), it took me 12 hours (including break times, I beat it in one sitting). The second time, about three hours. Now, I can beat it in about 1:30. Every chapter introduces you to the core mechanics slowly, then builds the rest of the level by combining them and utilizing them in puzzles.

I decided to get it on PC even though I have it on Xbox just because it's on sale right now, but I was planning on getting it anyways just to play when I'm bored. That's another strong suit; this game has mega replayability. After you get a grasp on the mechanics and beat the game, you can go back through the levels and see how easy everything is that you struggled on. It really teaches you the game well while you play and you don't even realize it until you look back.

There are very few bugs that you will encounter in a run, and you most likely won't run into them. Some are used in speedrunning for skips also. That's very vague I know, but its a very bug free game.

(Spoilers?) The story follows Madeline. She fights her fears and doubts to get up the mountain. Eventually, she learns to cope with herself along with Theo and the Old Woman.

The only thing I dislike about this game is chapter 5. It combines dark levels + restricted movement + monsters chasing you. I mainly dislike the monsters that chase you, even though they are part of the story. They are only used for part of that chapter and are just about forgotten. Not only do they just kinda go away, they are extremely annoying and unconsistent unless you have a bunch of practice. They were the number one challenge I had on my first playthrough, and still slow me down a bunch.

All-in-all a great game. With the recently added chapter 9 as a bonus, I would recommend this game to any one of my friends, unless they don't like a challenge.

Oh yeah, maybe get a controller too. It's less precise, but it is easier to use imo.
