It's an idle version of OSRS more or less. I'm playing the "adventure mode" now, which requires you to buy each skill. It's nice because it takes a bit more thought, but I think eventually I'll go to the next thing. Good while it lasts -- a lot of people find it very replayable, but I'm not sure I will.

So, if you like grindy games like Runescape this will be your cuppa. Me, I am fully disabled and get these terrible migraines from a past stroke -- and this is my "fallback" game when my head won't allow me to deal with situational awareness.

It's very tolerant. Combat is a sort of "set up, wind up, and let it happen" with an escape spell for when you need to get away or just don't want to slow down getting from point A to point B.

Also, banking is a PITA for the first bit of the game. Frankly, I think that's piss-poor onboarding, but again, if you like a grind, it's doable.

People have said you lose your levels going to a new zone, but all your levels are relative, right? So what it means is that you have new skills at level 0 going to a new chapter. It all depends if you're into big numbers and are a "size matters" type. ;)

I am variously impaired since a drunk driver rear ended me and I stroked out, some years back. Without programs like YoloMounse and this, my range of games I could play -- with my severely diminished situational awareness -- would be much more limited.

Thanks!

The first game was one of my migraine day games -- immersive and relaxing. The older game hasn't been updated much for years -- I'm taking a bet on the devs that this one will be maintained and expanded, and events freshened.

I'm not sure how I feel about some of the changes, but the old game was pretty ingrained and I'll give the town/farm thing a chance. It's got a little more Stardew Valley genetics (without the relationships, so far).

The thing I really really miss is Josh's soundtrack.

Recently returning player, having not played since 2017. The game is much improved, and even more than GW2, there are systems and activities for a wide variety of playstyles. But if you want to craft at all, you'll want to sub -- there's an infinite mats bag for subscribers, and I can't imagine being a crafter/gatherer without it.

I am one of those folks who cleaned out every building in every town, back in TESO III Morrowind. I am still the same, what, 30 years later? lol...

Doesn't run on wide screens without gymnastics. I haven't gotten myself to care enough to get it running. If Capcom is selling the game to promote DD2 still, they should patch it to run on modern monitors without modding and fiddly bits.

I think, sixty years ago, had such games been available to me as a 5yo, I'd have loved this game. Now I love it when I have a migraine and want to be engaged but not think. To every thing, there is a season.

If you like grindy open world survival craft games (my fave genre) this is fun and adds the collectathon. It's early access, and some of the controls are a bit janky, but obviously it's quite playable.

Pretty simple idle game with minimal clicking with the settings for that. Thank God -- my wrists are arthritic, and I need to think about these things.

The fish graphics are meh, customization is minimal. But it's just kind of a pleasant little thing. I'd give it a middle-grade, but as you know, it's thumbs up or down, right?

I like pixel graphics, but I think I might be docking points because I know the fish and the portrayal of the fish in terms of shapes, size, and color could be better, even in pixel graphics.

Basically points up for my wrists not hurting, points down for graphics and mostly unoriginal mechanics in general.

Nothing new but kind of cozy. I expect I won't play super long into it. I hope it serves as a portfolio piece for further work by the designer.

A nice turn based combat, crafting/gathering game that I particularly go to when I have a migraine. It is slow paced and grindy and satisfying. Old skool, and not to everyone's taste, but a game easily picked up and put down when you want something different.

Ten hours in, I am not finding much requirement to group up other than my squad of "companions," which is good because I'm escaping here because I don't want to let a group down in my other multiplayer games.
