Early Access Review
I wrote a positive review for this game a few years ago as I enjoyed the game largely due to the fun times I had on this game with friends, some of whom I still play with to this day. Where do I start? At its core, Miscreated is a post-apocalyptic PVE-PVP game set on an Island comprised of several towns and regions varying in size, with various animals and mutants that you must either take down or evade in order to survive. There are a plethora of weapons you can find throughout the map ranging from low tier weapons such as hunting rifles, to rarer and deadlier guns such as the AKM. Despite having a blast during my 431 hours of gameplay, Miscreated is not a good game, and any enjoyment I had during the 431 hours of gameplay was almost entirely due to the people I met. The game is essentially a running simulator, cars are incredibly rare and any cars that you do find, you must repair with parts you can find scattered throughout the map. Finding weapons in miscreated can be quite challenging and even if you do manage to find a weapon, you're only going to find a few rounds with that gun meaning that you must build a base and create ammunition yourself. On the topic of bases; basebuilding is horrendous. Despite having over 400 hours of gameplay, I have only created a base twice due to the tedious nature of going about building one. The gunplay and movement in this game are clunky and inconsistent, it often took several seconds to transition from running to standing still, in order to take a shot at a player. The game seemed to get worse and worse with updates, such as the developers making canned food give the player radiation after consuming it as well as giving players radiation after drinking running water, meaning that in later patches you were required to mitigate this radiation with iodine pills which were quite rare. While the map is perhaps the game's best feature, many towns and buildings are indistinguishable from one another, making gameplay boring and repetitive. Miscreated had the potential to become one of the best survival games on the market, but like many of its predecessors, it failed realise its potential.
