Early Access Review
As someone who played Elona before, and watched the kickstarter bloom, I'm so happy to see this game gain so much traction. The flexibility of how you want to play this game and the stories I've read wherever you are in the game or no matter what level you are is always so interesting. Truly a work of art. Also, we finally don't begin the game living in a cave anymore. Also, they made the controls so much more accessible, and easier to navigate.

In Elona, I used to be a pianist living my days sleeping in other people's beds and buying food and rations from the bakery. Carrying my grand piano around 💪 and playing for other people.. But they kept throwing rocks at me until I died, cause I was still so bad. Until I got so much better, I ended up playing for rich people's parties, they paid me so well. It was the only way I (my character) knew how to live and get by. Until I had rogues who kept trying to kill me while I travel to other towns, because my fame was too high. But in no way my character knew how to fight. The little girl with me kept dying. I managed to buy a horse to travel faster, to escape them. However my companion still kept dying.. I ended up sleeping on a royal bed in that king's place. Because it gave me the best rest stats. Until some commotion happened, I think somebody got drunk and somebody died in the palace, there was blood on the ground and there was meat on the floor. I picked it up and it was rotten.. I cooked it. The food was still rotten. My character got poisoned. 10/10 (It took me multiple tries to even survive in this game)

in Elin, I thought I would start out with a piano as well, apparently I don't. So I was just running around hoping to see a piano somewhere. Instead, I managed to make so much better progress by actually completing the Puppy Dungeon and saving the puppy. I picked up so much loot. I equipped a sword and apparently it was cursed and I can't remove it... There was some strange ominous whispering whenever I would try... Then I saw a glowing kangaroo-looking enemy. And I died. Still managed to save the puppy, and it laid an egg in my lot, and I cooked it... It apparently gave me good stats and increased my strength for some reason. 10/10

I already made 2 more characters and will explore other classes and races. Truly an amazing game.

It's a game about forgiveness, acceptance, and moving on. When I first played this game, I was taken aback. It's been awhile since a game with almost no dialogues or any of the such gave such a strong emotions or atmosphere. I was really touched with the music, lyrics, and story. Familiar emotions are expressed through the songs, and I was reminded of a lot. Despite its arcade-ish setting and vibrant graphics, it touches a very sensitive topic which entails a huge part of our lives which is love. And for that this game will forever be in my heart. I love every beat of it and every second of it, from the start screen until the end. Thank you so much.

I LOVE Little Misfortune. This game exceeded my expectations, the narrative & dialogues gave me a lot of laughs, realizations and fear. Which was unexpected, so many underhanded and direct jokes, I honestly thought this was close to a children's game, however, I was very wrong. Do not let the cute graphics fool you.

You will not appreciate this game if you will only look at the external aspects of it (game is short?, did my choices really matter? worth my money? just point and click?). This game is all about internalization, arguments, and realization.

Hiding behind the cute visuals, the themes / topics in this game are very dark and mature (involving drugs, depression, suicide & death, sexual themes, abortion, etc.), even though it has a very simple gameplay (Walking, examining things, you can explore back and forth, making choices). it's definitely a MUST PLAY watching the story unfold, thrill and most importantly the knowledge it brings. However, IF you're looking for more gameplay (more action), or if you do not like observing and acknowledging situations, this isn't for you.

The experience in playing this game, walking through its environment was actually very eerie and unsettling. The atmosphere was very sinister despite it being seemingly 'fine'. It was ALL psychologically horrifying. Being in the main character's position somehow felt like a nightmare. It has the sweetest music, and it may seem very lighthearted, however, making a choice each time feels VERY ominous. They did a really good job with the vibe they put in, it made me anxious to decide about anything in this game, no matter how simple it was. The voice acting was adorably remarkable, the story was extraordinary, I cannot say more about the story without spoiling it. The music was also suspiciously cute and puts you into the "Everything's okay but something bad may happen later" mood.

I love how they played around with the scenes and dialogues, even the smallest tidbits added charm to the gameplay, like spreading glitter. You could tell this game was really made with love, which is good since it was made by a couple. And breaking the fourth wall emphasizes the fact that this is more than JUST a game; the topics in it approached awareness and recognized issues with what people do in real life and how their decisions affect everything around them (Cause and effect), and those who failed to see that failed to see the wonders of this game.

Overall, there's just no way I could say "I do not recommend this game at all."
Internalize this game and you will love it. Please do not judge it for its face value or external aspects of it.
And maybe it seemed short only because the game & story was THAT good for us to only want more of it. ;)
Some stories let us imagine what follows after that, I think this is one of those. It may have felt abrupt, but at least it makes you reflect on the story. The story actually made me unexpectedly sad, and it almost made me cry.
And like I said, you will not appreciate it if you'll only look at it externally.

And thank you very much for the developers for making this game, it's truly a game worth playing!

Didn't expect this game to hit me like that, but it did. It was recommended to me by a lot of people, and then it was gifted to me, so I decided to give it a try. I have not cried over a game for years, but for this game, this is too good to skip or overlook. Yes, I did cry. And maybe the pixel graphics may even turn you off if this isn't your type of genre. But even if it's not, believe me, this is worth playing for the story.

This is a game from 2011. Controls won't seem very fluid, but is tolerable with patience. If you have 2 or more monitors, playing the game will mess up your other windows especially if you alt tab. It may not be fully polished or optimized, but I can still say this game is a masterpiece story-wise. The music is also top-notch, it makes up for no voice-over BUT funny dialogues, had a lot of laughs too.

Very rarely does a game do a great job of balancing the good and the sad atmospheres, but this one did.

Despite the final boss audio killing my ears and not feeling the cutscene due to said audio bug
and the 2nd to the final boss bugging into the walls..

10/10 would recommend.

Gameplay gets better as you progress.
Awesome story.
Awesome music.
Awesome art.

A thrilling online co-op game that deserves more recognition. I'm glad there's a sequel.
It's hilariously fun and a bit scary - we were pretty much confused in what to do at first and died a lot, but after we explored the area more and told each other info from our (separate) surroundings, we figured out how to do the puzzles.

Although there's no replay value, it's definitely worth a try.

Slightly buggy, I got stuck in a corner and fell down from the entire castle once and died, and there were times that we had to restart the game since there were network issues and we died a lot of times. But at some point, the game lets you restart at certain checkpoints.

But I love how the music and the sounds are immersive. Especially when we make a mistake, or when one of us walks up to a certain area. I also love how they made good use of the atmosphere which made us panic a lot. Or rather, it was me who was initially in panic, and my friend became afraid because I was terrified lol

In the last part of the game, you get to meet your friend so I walked up to him, and HE SAID "HELP ME, SOMEONE'S COMING UP TO ME" AND I SAID "ITS ME" LMAO

I laughed at my friend for the next 30 mins

Finish episode 1, and you'll see the thrill.

This game deserves more recognition. Despite being quite overshadowed by the other popular Telltale Series like The Walking Dead or Batman - The Telltale Series, those who were able to play and finish this game ache for a 2nd Season. It will leave you hanging. If The Walking Dead made you emotional, this Telltale Game will make you think. It's not your typical generic tale. This is Telltale, and this is The Wolf Among Us.

The plot revolves around fairy tales, but The Wolf Among Us gave a darker twist to that, it wasn't sugar-coated or made light-hearted for children. It was closer to how grim the original writers made these fables to be.

Ever since Bigby saw Snow White's head at the end of ep 1. I knew everything was going down..
