Fair survival game, still in development, more finished than some triple A games.

I don't understand what all the fuss is; historically the MG series have been about swerving twists; the very first one had your CO turn out to be the actual bad guy; MG2 had the twists of fighting former comrades and the revelation that the Boss wasn't dead yet; then MGS had a metric ton of shocking swerves: you have a twin brother, you are the clone of the first game's boss, the bad guys actually fool you into activating the nuclear bomb you were sent to disarm
; and then you had ANOTHER twin brother who was also a clone of Big Boss; then MGS2 went all post modern and actually mocked the players for wanting to be Solid Snake, by preventing them from playing as him and instead forcing them to play as another unlikable character (who turns out to be more badass than Solid Snake)

So where does MGSV stand after TWO games where you play as the original Metal Gear Big Boss? well, by continuing the by now traditional string of shocing swerves, only this time, YOU are Big Boss, YOU are the one who builds up (his already exaggerated legend) to the levels of myth.

Nevermind, ever since MGS3 Big Boss is already turning into a bad guy; he first gets disillusioned with the whole idea of nations and governments during MGS3, by being an unwitting pawn; then he goes and forms a private military force and has the gall to call it "Militia Without Borders" and claims his group "has no ideologies, no nationality" and they specialize in wet works; wich for the unitiated means they are guns for hire, and kill whoever you want killed but don't want the public to find out you ordered the hit.

So the ending of this game should come as no surprise for anybody; and is again a master piece in player manipulation from Hideo Kojima. you can dislike it all you want, it doesn't take away from the fact he had you fooled again completely; and this time, the story is up front about the deception, with clues coming in starting form the introductory cut scene.

YOU ARE BIG BOSS.
