Cute short game with beautiful pixel art and music scores.

The narrative is all right, like it's not the most compelling writing you'll ever see, but it's not so cringey that you want to gouge your eyes out either.

It's essentially just The Bee Movie but with rodents instead of bees, with slightly more political stuff involved (e.g. an NPC with ideals that Hitler and Thanos would agree with).

The game is pretty short, but also like, imagine going to the movies (which costs about the same where I live in the U.S.) and only getting 2 hours of entertainment, whereas this game gave me over 6 hours of entertainment (and I didn't have to leave my own house).

As for the actual "combat", it is almost impossible to lose (except in one scripted encounter with an NPC way about your level who blocks all of your attacks and then instantly defeats your party with one attack) as long as you equip the newest armor/weapons/food you find. I did not lose a single fight in the entire game (minus that one scripted encounter that you are supposed to lose for the sake of the story).

If you have ever played Octopath traveler, the combat system is almost completely identical (minus the ability to stun enemies by hitting them with what they're weak to). The other main difference is that you regain one BP per round even if you used a BP last round (as opposed to Octopath Traveler where if you use only 1 BP, you do not regenerate any BP the next round).

But otherwise, yeah, overall, it's an extremely simple and short narrative adventure game.

Unfortunately, without a Newgame+ or other difficulty modes and with the story being extremely linear (you pretty much can't do any sidequests until right up against the last mission, which you can start at any time), there is absolutely no replayability factor. But the game is, of course, not marketed as being a roguelike or anything like that, so that's what one should have expected, to be fair.

My one main request for the game is to have your current objective available when you pause the game. Like, even though the story is so fast that you can beat the game in one sitting, it would be annoying if you decided to save the game and come back to it in another month or two and then completely forgot what you were doing, and also you can't talk to your party members or anything to remind you of your current quest like in (West of / Shadows over) Loathing. I'm not asking for a Skyrim-like quest journal with every single quest that you've ever done and every single stage of each quest, I just want what you're supposed to be doing right now for the Main Quest to display in the top-left of the screen when you pause the game, that's all.

========================

Story: 6/10 (Extremely simple, linear story with very predictable characters. Not the best, not the worst.)
Music: 10/10 (fantastic music, it never felt like the music was out of place or anything, the music always matches the current ambiance and tone)
Artwork: 10/10 (I am biased because I love pixel art)
Gameplay: 7/10 (a harder difficulty mode would be better, but the combat system itself works perfectly fine)

Overall rating: 8.25/10

TL;DR -

BUY THE GAME IF:
...you're looking for a short extremely casual game to pass a few hours.
...you love turn-based RPGs like the original Final Fantasies, Epic Battle Fantasy, Deltarune, Octopath Traveler, Super Mario RPG, Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, etc.
...you mostly just want to experience a story with minimal effort required gameplay-wise.
...you like good RPG music and/or pixel art.
...you like Visual Novels and/or CYOA games and/or Interactive Fiction games (the game is essentially just a VN/CYOAG/IF Game with some extremely easy combat sprinkled in).

DO NOT BUY THE GAME IF:
...you're looking for a challenge.
...you want a game with a high replayability value.
...you are looking for a vast open world sandbox game with branching story paths, AI companions, and the like.
...you are looking for an RPG with extremely complex elements such as switching turn order, having to deal with enemies of completely differing abilities in a single combat (such as fighting a Fire and an Ice enemy at the same time in another RPG; in this game, if there are multiple enemies in a single combat, then they are just copy/pastes of each other, sometimes with a color palette swap)
