Great soundtrack, I am of the opinion however it should include .flac files, or midis, if that's how the music was composed!

Early Access Review
Followed this game for a while before it actually came to early access on steam, and I can say, even in it's currently unfinished state, it is everything I had hoped it would be. Just as a preface, it is a survival game, much in the vein of something like the forest, with its base building and crafting element, but has elements of half-life 1, SCP containment breach, and at least in regards to skill leveling, something like project zomboid. If you dislike that kind of gameplay, if you don't like half-life or the retro style graphics as is on display, or any of that as I listed, you will probably dislike this game.

Now, on the surface, the game appears to be about surviving and getting out of the aptly named cascade facility, using your scientific wits and mental prowess to make new technology out of the things around you, to keep pushing deeper into the facility, in hopes of finding a way out. However, to me, this game is more then that, as it is not so much about surviving, as it is about achieving godhood through science. Spoilers ahead for those who will want to discover such greatness organically through play, as I have.

As the game progress, and your character grows stronger, so does the technology you're able to make. Soon after you master your skills, you will be able to master teleportation, infinite power through lasers, and if your clever, stopping the invasion via the use of upgraded crafting benches, helping lead into being able to create kill zones for robots, aliens, and the fanatical human invaders. Where as some will see cascade as their tomb, a place to escape, you will quickly find it to be your kingdom, a place to be dominated.

For me, this game is an all time favorite, a true love letter to half-life 1, in terms of it's setting and references. It should be noted that it is probably best experienced in it's current state with a friend, although I played a good bit both with a friend as well as without, I reckon someone without anybody to play with wanting a good single player experience, might get that better once the game has a conclusive ending to the story (as of writing, the game is yet to be complete). Despite that, a resounding recommendation from me.

I'm sure i'll come back to playing another time, after they've added chucky and freddy kruger, and by then i'll be over it, because ♥♥♥♥ like this, is just how it is. But for the time being, ♥♥♥♥ crytek, and ♥♥♥♥ this game.

Used to play this guys GMod maps, so when I found out he made a game that didn't look like some kind of asset flip garbage I figured I had to buy it given the price. And a year later, I find myself playing it and very much enjoying it. Really interesting setting, and some fun gameplay, if you're into RPG maker turn based combat.
I like it a lot, and I reckon there's enough interesting ♥♥♥♥ going on here, stuff to do in the game, character types to make, and endings and secrets to find to more then justify the purchase, given an interest in this genre of game.

I enjoy the game with mods, but it's still a decent time without, very cool.

Early Access Review
Although this game is well and truly great, in terms of it's gameplay, graphics and level design (with few exceptions later on to the latter), you will never truly be immersed in this game. This is thanks to the constant references this game is blasting you with. I'm not kidding this is not a subtle nod here and there, they are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everywhere, on every map, as graffiti, adverts, on the cola machines, hell, there was even a ridiculous H-Doom reference that just, straight up has a pixelated screenshot of the mod with some text over it. And by the way, the devs can't even claim the jizzum on the floor in that easter eggs room is from the nearby paint can, since when you shoot it, yellow paint'll fly out of the thing (mind you, the paint color could be randomized, but rest assured it was not white when I shot it).
The level of references is obscene, and it's likely thanks to the roots of the developers as Doom modders, if i'm recalling correctly. Stuff like this wouldn't be out of place in a well done megawad, wanting to throw funny references about, while you're shooting up the demons. But here, in a game you're paying money for, that has a genuinely interesting setting, and world building is no-good.
With all that being said, the game is still great and is absolutely recommended for it's gunplay, and intractability, and it's level design, and all that good stuff, folks are no doubt praising about it (and quite justly too). Just know what you're getting into when you decide to play this game, and that if you know anything about any of the references in this game, you'll have a hard time taking it seriously due to the sheer volume of it.

Oh yeah, and where did those zombies come from?

TLDR: The game has way too many references in it, but is still very fun.

Man, what a great game, it just totally perplexes me how the ending was as atrocious as it was. I'm not even just speaking upon the actual ending cinematic itself, but the final boss too, I don't know how they were unable to just take upon the original games cyberspace final boss, and make it actually interesting and challenging, instead of a terrible first person segment with no hud?????

To me, it just felt somehow unfinished, and the fact that the ending is as anti-climatic in tone as the actual defeating of the boss is no help to this feeling. I mean hell, they don't even use a rendition of that great final track from the original, instead some terrible ill fitting song, I really don't know what they were thinking there.

But uh, yeah, that ending weighed heavy on my mind, and with all that being said, the game is indeed great, it's a good challenge, and a great rendition of a classic you certainly should consider getting, fiances willing.

Very fun and memorable game, only real downside is how boring and generic the music is. Also quite short.
