I may not be the typical player of this game but after 800+ hours, I felt like it deserved a review.

The first time I fired it up, the learning curve felt steep. There were so many things to look at that my first pawn had a mental break from starvation before I'd learned how to tell them to hunt. I started in a green tropical map and that's when I learned that malaria is no joke. The first colony failed before it started.

But then I figured out the menus and the order of things to get a stable start. Since then I've never left a planet or experienced an endgame, and I'm too chicken to play on the harder difficulties, but the number of stories that have happened in the mostly-peaceful colonies I run have kept me endlessly entertained (and with the ability to have multiple colonies, very busy!). I've never played a game with this much replay value, even counting Minecraft with its endless mods. Rimworld is truly a treasure in my game library and I can't recommend it enough.

And all the other stories that reviewers leave here? They're all true. You'll have to try it for yourself and see.
