Zodiac is the pseudonym of an unidentified American serial killer who operated in Northern California from the late 1960s to the early 1970s. The killer carried out seven identified attacks in Benisha, Vallejo, Napa and San Francisco between December 1968 and October 1969, of which five resulted in the death of the victims. He attacked couples of young people, and also committed the murder of a taxi driver. He used a knife and a gun during his crimes. He was also a suspect in the serial murders of girls in Santa Rosa.
