I avoided this game for years due to the shaky launch, but it seems like they've finally delivered on all of their promises. I would like there to be more variety in aliens, and perhaps systems that haven't already been discovered before i.e. every system has a space station, there's relics, and crashed ships etc so no real sense that you're the "first". There does come a point where you say "well, what now?" but there's certainly enough gameplay to keep anyone entertained.

Exactly 2 years later after my first review, this game is still going strong with lots of updates and expeditions!

You dodge whales and fish, that's it. Even then the collision detection with the whales is awful. I found it more annoying than intriguing.

I enjoyed it, but sadly don't have as much time to sink into the game as I did with previous titles... all the way back to Civ 1!

I played Ep1 on Steam and watched the rest of the episodes on YouTube. I don't own the other episodes and have no desire to buy them. At least on YT you can skip past the slow parts when she's just walking around or examining random objects.

Pros
* Nice graphics, beatiful vistas etc.
* Great music & sounds.
* Interesting story (but ultimately pointless).

Cons
* Slooooow - I was ready to quit & never play again after Ep1. Ep2 wasn't any better and Ep3 was slighly less tedious. Ep4 & 5 were probably the only ones I'd recommend playing/watching. Obviously the previous episodes set up the story, but it progresses at a snails pace.
* Awkward dialogue in parts.
* Found it hard to care about the characters.
* Literally only 1 choice that matters in the game.
* Would be just as meaningful if she'd just dreamt the entire story (or some sort of psychotic episode).

Overall, I'd recommend you just watch it on YouTube. You gain nothing by playing the game yourself, as everything is essentially pre-scripted with only slight changes along the way. I'm not recommending it overall as 3/5 episodes were painfully slow, and I really just wanted the story to end. It did hook me enough to actually bother to get through it, so it's not terrible by any means.

I've cleared almost every dungeon and collected almost every special item from the main game, but I still have to complete Dragonborn and Dawnguard DLC's. That's with a single playthrough, 593 hours and counting... A thoroughly enjoyable game!

Great stories, art style, well-designed puzzles, and it taught me about a culture I would have otherwise known nothing about. Sure there are a few frustrations (aiming with the bolas isn't always easy) but I finished both the main game and the DLC without too much hassle. I actually thought that Foxtales was a bit more exciting (can get eaten etc), so it's only a shame I couldn't play more of it! Overall I found them both very enjoyable and would recommend to anyone.

I'm not recommending it simply because I didn't enjoy it overall and won't be interested in further chapters. It was an interesting idea & the devs did some nice work - I just think it's lacking the gameplay and enjoyment factor. It might be worth a buck or two, but I certainly wouldn't pay the $10 asking price for it (I got it in a bundle with many other games)

Pros:
* Pleasant story
* Nice visuals
* Nice music
* Short game (<4 hours)

Cons:
* Juvenile humour (more annoying than humorous)
* Tedious gameplay (slow walking, mostly wandering around just to find the next orb/memory just so you can get on with the story)
* The minigames are repetitive and suck
* No plot choices

I really wish I could move faster than a snails pace (or not have to walk at all and just click things immediately) and that there was actually something to do that made any difference (story choices). As it was I just felt like I was in a walking-simulator, slowly going through the paces to unlock the fixed story.

It was hard to be emotionally involved with the story when I was just wishing it would end already - I was glad when it finally did!
