Stop making unskippable cutscenes.

Stop making me run downwards with a bad camera angle and dropping my sorry arse into the abyss.

So this is a review after 40+ hours.

Still stutters with a 7800x3d and 4090 combo. Don't even know which setting to remove/tweak, and I've tried them all.

Online didn't work for the first few days and even now it's still unstable. Couldn't play online at all.

Where the heck do I find certain systems that my damned journal is telling me to go to?

Do I just scroll around the entire expanse map like an idiot?

I missed BG1 and BG2. Not anymore.

Game's still ♥♥♥♥.

Forces you to get EA play. Which takes a whole 15 minutes just to finish logging in and installing itself.

Runs a weird shader compilation EVERY TIME you start the game. This would have been less annoying if not for the next big issue.

I have not played more than 45 without getting a crash. 5600x, 32GB RAM and a 3080 to boot.

I found a Discworld reference. That is all.

I don't usually write reviews... but... this is an absolute gem of a game.

You start off harpooning fishes for a motley crew of a sushi restaurant, and then suddenly you go face-to-face with a giant squid. And that's just the start.

I can't emphasis strongly enough. If you have the money and time, but this game and play the hell out of it.

Kinda want to like it a lot but the gameplay loop is too simplistic to be called roguelike.

There are virtually no roguelike mechanics. You fail a run, that's it. Clearing a relic run gives you some manner of sidegrade by unlock new maps/weapons/gadgets.

Please don't play this game.

It's a 50:50 leaning on yes.

Pros:
- Compelling storyline (if you're into that),
- Great combat controls that's a bit between the difficulty of your standard 3rd person hack-n-slash and dark souls (albeit the amount of i-frames and how forgiving blocking is on the normal difficulty makes it a tad easy).
- Puzzles aren't too tough to the point you need to use an online guide unless you're really stumped.

Major cons:
- Random memory leaks leading to CTD after about 2 hours of gameplay, usually right up an environment change (ie cutscenes). Wish it was because of my rig/drivers but you should take a look at the bottom of this review.

Minor cons:
- Cutscene camera has forced shakiness. IDK what the hell does this add.
- Turning around needs a special button (?). Reminds me of Resident Evil 1.
- Target locking isn't very well indicated nor does the camera respect it too much. You'll have some happy fun times pressing R3.
- Other minor gameplay-based annoyances that wasn't too bad (coming from DS3 and Nioh2 especially).
