Server stability is greatly improved. The devs are listening. Gameplay is very fun.
Many of the early negative reviews were due to server issues.

The story is alright, especially if you like Mortal Kombat. But you can watch that on YouTube.
Gameplay is personal preference, and most people seem to like it. The music is also good for once.

However, in all other aspects the game is a HUGE step down from Mortal Kombat 11.
The online experience is terrible.
Unlocking is terrible: there is no Krypt and unlocking things is as simple as dumping coins into a shrine.
Single player is terrible: the Invasions literally feels and plays like a bad mobile gacha game.

Even if you're a big MK fan like I am, I would wait for a sale. I spent around 300 hours in MK11 and had fun. I have so far spent about 30 hours in MK1 and I am done with the game.

Street Fighter 6 is a great fighting game and will hopefully light the way for the entire genre.
Tastes may differ but as far as products go, Street Fighter 6 is the best fighting game I have ever bought.
I'm saying that with a few reservations though.

The Online
The online play is the most important aspect of a fighting game and thankfully it is great here.
What I would like to see in the future is optional voice chat. I understand it is a risk, but I think it would overall be a net positive.

+ Great rollback netcode
+ CFN: ingame text chat, friend lists, replay search, leaderboards, and clubs.
+ Battle Hub and Custom Rooms are vast improvements over SFV.

- Matchmaking, specifically placements seem a bit buggy. Variance in matchmaking is very high at the moment.
- No voice chat.

Training Mode
In a nutshell this is the best training mode I have ever seen. The only missing function that I would like to see over time is a hitbox viewer.

+ Literally all the options you can think of...

- ... Except for a hitbox viewer.

Trials and Tutorials
Not the best tutorials out there. I have seen for example Killer Instinct have a better tutorial mode when it comes to raw game mechanics. But there are per-character strategy guides and these are very welcome additions.

+ Combo trials are okay. A good mix of challenging combos and useful run of the mill bnbs.
+ There is a sort of interactive tutorial presentation for each of the characters, going over their strategy. This is a welcome addition for players who would otherwise be overwhelmed by the size of fighting game movesets.
+ World Tour mode is actually a cleverly disguised and very long tutorial, that is clearly designed to ease players into feeling comfortable about going online. World Tour on its own is underwhelming. I finished it, it was not great. But I understand that World Tour was not designed for me, it is designed for newcomers to fighting games.

- It's hard to point a single thing out but I still feel like improvements can be made for future games.

Accessibility
Nothing but positive things to say.

+ There are a whole bunch of accessibility options in the game for people with eyesight impairments.
+ Modern controls are here for people who do not feel comfortable with complex inputs and combo memorization and want to focus on the strategy aspect of fighting games more than on the execution aspect.
+ Dynamic controls are only usable offline and are great for literally button mashing. This is a nice way to let your little nieces and nephews play when they visit.

Monetization

? As of this writing there hasn't been a single released battle pass. It may turn out that Capcom has increased the prices of cosmetics dramatically compared to older games. We'll have to see.
? Characters have become more expensive compared to older titles. Season passes have the same price but now only come with four fighters instead of six. If this means more quality then that is good. Once again, we'll have to see.

Conclusion
If you've ever considered jumping into Street Fighter or even just fighting games in general, this is a great time to do so.
I could never comfortable recommend Street Fighter V to people. Street Fighter 6 however, has so far been fantastic.

Dagon is my favorite work of Lovecraft's, so I was incredibly excited - and anxious - when I noticed this release. Lovecraft is known to be notoriously difficult (even impossible) to adapt, but I can safely say that this is perhaps the best Lovecraft "adaptation" I have ever experienced. And that's probably because of how faithful it is. This game is less an adaptation than it is a translation into another medium. Calling it a game is even a stretch.

In short: you are experiencing the entire short story of Dagon. Every single word is narrated. The work is underlined with visuals and scoring that really sets the tone and atmosphere. The only additions really are some trivia hidden throughout that you need to look around for, and will give you some insight into Lovecraft's life and oeuvre. The bad part about that, is that they break the narrative. I would have preferred these trivia to be accessible separately in a menu rather than for them to interrupt the flow of the voice-over narration.

There are only two flaws with this game in my opinion. The first I have mentioned, which is that the trivia collecting can break the immersion. The second is with the voice actor. For most of the narration, I feel he's fine. Nothing more, just fine. He doesn't really capture the paranoia that the short story slowly induces in the reader, but at least he isn't distracting or annoying. But then in the climax of the story, the narrator finally (but suddenly!) cranks it up to eleven with the paranoia and fear and it's just very jarring.

Overall though, highly recommended. If you have a VR set, you should check this out. If you enjoy horror in general and especially Lovecraft in particular, you should check this out. If you have about 30 minutes that you don't know what to do with, you should check this out. The best that can happen is that you are introduced to the wild world of cosmic horror and all the awe that comes with it. The worst thing that can happen is a fever-addled dream in which unspeakable horrors from the slimy depths haunt you across the Stygian abyss.

But hey. At least it's free.

------------------I have updated this review to now be positive, as the developers have already pushed out a patch and I'm confident the issues will be adressed in due time. I'm having fun with the game! The unedited first version can still be read below.------------------

Cannot recommend at this time.
The game looks enjoyable enough, as soon as they iron out the kinks.

Most upsetting: setting it to 144hz apparently locks the game to 30 fps.
Somehow the yaw and pitch are bound to the mouse with roll and throttle bound to the keyboard.
The industry standard has been roll/pitch on mouse and yaw/throttle on keyboard.
As of this writing you CANNOT rebind these.
Also many people are reporting issues with their flight sticks, and the game has a huge deadzone.

Overall: it's got graphical issues and unless you're using a console pad, it's got control issues as well.

I've played a bunch of fighting games over the past few years, and Soulcalibur VI absolutely nails that much needed mix of accessibility and depth. It's also the most fun I've had with a fighting game in years. I'm hooked.

Single player content is alright, especially in comparison to games like SFV and DBFZ, but it definitely isn't stellar. I wouldn't recommend it based on that, the meat and potatoes lies in online multiplayer.

Conclusion

Battle Fleet Ground Assault has some decent gameplay, packaged with “bad” (but functional!) graphics and an interface that looks very dated. The bombastic music and tank gameplay leave you with a decent end product. Sadly, it’s riddled with a bunch of design flaws that make it hard to take seriously as a strategy game. RNG is too big a factor and at the end of the day, it’s also mechanically shallow. Fun for a bit, but hardly worth really biting into. A casual strategy game for those looking to take their mind off something else.

Conclusion

Bullet Witch might be a good buy for those who have nostalgic feelings towards the original, or who are running on outdated hardware, or those on a tight budget. After all, the title is priced very modestly. But even then we are hard pressed to give this title anything higher than a five out of ten. Bullet Witch was a mediocre 2006 title ported to 2018, and it shows. It would be quite a bit easier to forgive its shortcomings if the game could distract you from them with an onslaught of action, but in reality the opposite is the case.
